Unnerving photo of incredibly dangerous animal in child’s bed is nearly ‘impossible to spot’

The dangerous animal was 'trying to blend in with some cuddle toys'

A Queensland family were left horrified after finding an incredibly dangerous animal in their daughter's bed - and it’s nearly ‘impossible’ to see it in the photo.

At a glance, you would completely miss the creature curled up among the teddies and toys.

But a closer look might leave you feeling a bit unnerved.

After an inspection of the unmade unicorn-covered bed, the family realised that it was a snake that had made itself at home.

But not just any snake - a red-bellied black snake, which is often spotted in eastern parts of Australia.

The medium-sized reptiles are described as having a 'moderate to robust build and head barely distinct from the neck', and a largely black body with a red-underbelly, according to the Australian Museum.

As per the Australian Geographic, the snakes are venomous and - in the worst circumstances - their bites can prove potentially fatal.

Despite several bites being recorded Down Under, there haven’t been any reported deaths as a result of the creature.

Like many animals, snakes are actually quite timid and will only act aggressively if they feel threatened.

Which is why the girl not being in bed at the same time as the reptile was a stroke of good luck.

Not really wanting to disrupt the snake themselves (wise decision), the family decided to contact the Snake Catchers Brisbane & Gold Coast to help them remove their unwanted guest.

The snake catching service wrote on Facebook: “This Highly Venomous Red-Bellied Black snake was relocated from a child’s bed this morning in Jimboomba after trying to blend in with some cuddle toys.”

And if you’re curious as to how the snake snuck into the child’s bed to begin with, it's believed that it came through an open door in the house.

People have noted how chilled out the snake seemed to be, even while being moved from the cosy bed.

One said: “Wow, such a chill buddy! Getting into the bag by himself and all.”

Another added: “Pretty chill snake!

“Luckily it was found before the little girl gave it a scare.”

But others were left unnerved by the situation, joking that they wouldn’t be moving to the area in a hurry.

One said: “Oh hell to the no!! Nope nope nope.”

Someone else commented: “Well I am not moving to Jimboomba in a hurry lol.”
