The internet has been left seriously spooked after realising a huge number of people are having exactly the same dream.
Now, we all know that, of course, dreaming is a normal part of sleep - most of us will experience it during the Rapid Eye Movement (REM) stage of our sleep cycle, which makes up roughly a quarter of our time asleep.
Essentially, the brain is more active during this time, similar to when we're awake, meaning our dreams may be more vivid.
However, this dream in question that seemingly everyone has been having, isn't exactly one of the usual culprits like falling, being chased, losing teeth, or the dreaded being naked in public.

It's actually set inside a mall - and so many people have experienced it that it's got its very own Reddit thread dedicated to the matter, called 'The Mall World'.
'The Mall World' is basically an uncanny fictional place that's often the setting of people's dreams, despite never actually having been there in real life - and as we say, it somewhat resembles an indoor shopping mall.

According to The New York post, The Mall World's Reddit page has over 3,600 weekly visitors. So yep, a lot of people seem to be having this bizarre dream.

The creator wrote: "I originally created this page to make sure I wasn’t the only one experiencing this stuff. This has gotten much larger than expected…"
While another user penned: "Hi everyone, I’ve experienced dreams set in a gradually evolving underground shopping mall for decades, but didn’t realise it was a thing until I stumbled onto this community a few minutes ago."
And someone else quipped: "I can never find what I'm looking for or get where I'm going".
Meanwhile, another person agreed: "I’m always trying to get somewhere that I can’t get to, every where I go is a dead end or I’m way further away than I was before. Last night I was trying get directions on phone but I didn’t have service. It’s so weird."

And someone else in the thread explained: "Just curious… who remembers how they specifically entered into Mall World? Mine was a coat closet in my Dad’s office in the basement of my parents house…
"I’d peel the coats back and walk down into an underground tunnel system that lead me straight to Mall World."

And chatter about the strange dream has spread from Reddit to other social media platforms like TikTok.

"I have been going there for several years now…..It's wild other people have mapped it out too," one person wrote.
While someone else agreed: "Nah wtf I been DEADASS having these dreams as of recently."
Attempting to explain the phenomenon, dream analyst Layne Dalfen told The Post: "At the first level, every dream is an interior discussion about a subject from this week you are attempting to come to a conclusion about."
She added: “We are problem-solving in our dreams. So the goal is to help you connect to that very specific, very recent situation you were discussing with yourself when you had the dream.

"The unconscious only has one goal. It wants you to take the interior conversation and bring it outside to waking life, where you can discuss it! Get feedback and ideas from those you love and trust."
