'90s Poo' is the latest trend that’s got young people comparing notes

The lavatory-based trend has blown some TikTok users' minds

Social media has seemingly been set ablaze with debates surrounding 'Gen-Z vs Millennial' ways of living, with one kicking off about going to the toilet.

In the last few weeks alone, Gen-Zs (those born between 1997 and 2012) left the generation prior, Millennials (1981-1996) utterly baffled after claiming that one particular clothing 'staple' is being branded 'out of fashion'.

And in the days prior, a batch of 'oldies' were reportedly left in stitches after seeing some vape-loving youngsters having to explain how to smoke a ciggie.

However, the ongoing discussing has now moved to the bathroom, with Millenials being left mind-blown after a certain members of the Gen-Z community lifted the lid on what they describe as a '90s poo'.

If you have no idea what we're on about, you simply need to look at TikTok, where the 'trend' has apparently gone viral.

Without being crass, for those who need catching up, taking a '90s poo', describes heading to the lavatory to relieve oneself without being accompanied by any form of distraction - namely, your mobile phone.

Instead of flicking through your phone, scrolling through Instagram or swiping through Tinder, you simply settle down on the seat and take in your surroundings.

It's essentially rawdogging, but on the loo.

And when it comes to the reasoning behind it's controversial title, it seems to be due to the fact that 90s kids weren't able to use smart phones while taking a No. 2, due to the fact they weren't around then.

And as we say, the trend has caused quite a stir online, with many Gen-Z making a mockery of the things that bathroom-goers used to get up to while... dropping their kids off at the pool.

While many clips see TikTokers reading through the ingredients listed on their air fresheners bottles, viewers quickly took to the comments to reveal their former bathroom antics.

"You forgot finding faces on the linoleum floor then looking away to see if you can find it again," one joked.

A second explained: "You'd have to read and TRY to pronounce each and every ingredient in aerosol cans."

"Omg spot on! And I would try to read and pronounce the ingredients in French and Spanish on back of bottle. Lmao!" a third laughed.

Another revealed: "I always had my Gameboy with me as kid growing up. now when I go all I hear is the pokemon music with no Gameboy in sight."

Someone else added: "My mom always had a reader's digest in the bathroom so we were covered."

One user reminisced: "I did this until I was 16 because after that I played snake on my phone my Nokia cell. So crazy how little things like this bring back so many memories."
