Woman Reprimanded Twice At Work For 'Inappropriate' Outfits

Woman Reprimanded Twice At Work For 'Inappropriate' Outfits

The woman's manager told her she 'dressed too sexy'.

A woman has revealed how she was reprimanded at work on two separate occasions over her choice of workwear.

The woman – who goes by @ninaosegueda on TikTok – took to the video sharing platform to recall what happened, and other users were appalled by her story.

Showing users an example of one of her outfits, Nina said: "I was reprimanded twice at 2 different offices for dressing 'inappropriately'. It's just my shape."

You can watch the clip below:

In a separate follow-up clip, Nina explained she had been working as a software trainer when she was first scolded for her work clothes.

"The first time it happened, I was working as a software trainer... I was laid off, and the guy laying me off, the manager, told me that I dressed too sexy," she said.

"The second time it happened I was working at an office and the female office manager told a co-worker that I was wearing a 'club dress' which was a knee-length dress that wasn't even fitted, it was only fitted at the waist, not at the hips like the dress in my video.

"So yeah I've got it twice, all while wearing perfectly appropriate office wear and it's just my shape."

People were horrified by Nina's experience, with others sharing their own similar stories.

One wrote: "This right here!!! I always felt uncomfortable so I started dressing down more & more. And was so happy to be WFH so I didn’t have to deal with this."

Another said: "Isn’t it wild that some people act like you’re the inappropriate one for just having a body, and they completely overlook the fact that they should be adjusting how they see women’s bodies?"

A third added: "Yupp I went to a gala for work and dressed like everyone else but was called out for my outfit b/c I was the only one with curves."

Another user wrote: "Similar shape here. I’ve learned dress codes are different for us :( I buy everything baggy to thicken the look of my waist. Sigh."

Sigh. When will people stop believing they are entitled to comment on women's bodies?
