Spending your days lounging in the sun is anyone’s dream, but trying to sleep in the heat is anything but dream-like.

The current heatwave in the UK has got the good citizens of our sweltering island trying to do everything in their power to keep their rooms cool in order to get a good night’s sleep.

So, we were thrilled when one TikTok user, Millie Warder, revealed a genius £15 hack to help fellow Brits keep cool at night. Check out the hack below:

Of course, fellow TikTokers quickly took to the comments to share their own elation with the summer hack, with one user writing: “I use one as a pillow too! It’s really nice in the summer.”

“We have it, we have the biggest size,” another echoed of the tip, whilst a different social media user advised others: “It works better after you’ve put it in the fridge for a few mins.”

Someone else added of the tip, which they’ve sworn by for a lifetime: “Had one of these for years, life saver, I swear.”

The ‘life-saving’ hack is safe, requires no electricity or water, and is non-toxic, according to the B&M site.

Whilst the summer product from the budget store is actually intended for pets, this TikTok user didn’t see the harm in using it for herself.

And fear not, a representative of B&M has told Tyla that the pet bed is safe for humans to use, too.

Elsewhere in hacks for the hottest season of the year, one mum has come up with an interesting trick to heat up her swimming pool, and the internet is divided.

The TikTok user, Dee Dee, shared the trick on the social media platform, garnering quite a lot of attention from the online community.

Her idea went viral, with many loving the idea and admitting that they want to try it themselves.

"Brilliant idea,” one person wrote.

"That's a great shout! I have this pool and have tried using the solar mats but they are useless," said another viewer, while a third added: "That's thinking outside the box, I like it."

Meanwhile, the overwhelming response among viewers is concern about what impact this could have on TikToker’s electricity bill.

As the UK is painfully aware, the biggest increase in domestic energy bills in living memory came into effect in April, leaving many families facing further financial struggle during the cost-of-living crisis.

With this in mind, many TikTokers shared their own experiences with the Lay-Z-Spa heating system, although the prices they claim to pay varies drastically between users.

You can read more on that here.
