A Starbucks barista was caught off-guard when she found a secret flirty message on her coffee cup.

As lovers of all things rom-com related, we’ve seen all sorts of meet-cutes, from school hallways, to the classic book stores to old-school internet chat rooms.

The thought of having a chance encounter with a future lover is usually exciting and fun; however, one coffee drinker was completely uninterested when a barista tried to shoot their shot via coffee cup.

In a viral video posted on TikTok, the woman, who posts from her account @chance_twins alongside her twin sister, shared the cheeky ‘secret message’ she found on the cup, which would probably have been missed by many people. It makes you wonder, ‘how many times has a barista tried to send us a flirty message and we were totally unaware?’

Anyway, back to the message. The text printed at the bottom of the cup has been strategically edited using a pen to send a very saucy hint.

Usually the message reads: ‘Careful, the beverage you’re about to enjoy is extremely hot.”

But instead, the unknown barista crossed out several words so that the message reads: “Careful, you’re extremely hot.”

The TikToker was left embarrassed by the message and jokingly said she wouldn’t return to the coffee chain branch to avoid seeing the barista again.

She captioned the video: "What just happened at Starbucks? Never going back there.”

Commenters on TikTok had a field day joking about the message, with many agreeing that it was a ‘smooth’ move.

“Hear me out…. Lowkey kinda attractive,” one person commented.

“HAHAHAHAHAHA THAT WAS SO SMART OF THAT SOMEONE,” another TikToker wrote.

“Be careful coffee, she’s too hot,” another viewer commented.

“That wassss smoooooooth,” an excited TikTok user user.

We're going to pay special attention to our Starbucks cups from now on!

In other Starbucks news, the coffee chain launched two delicious new Frappuccino drinks just in time for the summer.

The two new flavours are ‘wafflecone’ drinks, you can choose from the ‘Chocolatey Wafflecone Coffee Frappuccino’ or opt for a ‘Strawberry Wafflecone Crème Frappuccino’ - or maybe have both! We won't judge.

Both of these new flavours are inspired by food combinations, coming with either a cream or a coffee base.

If you want to buy one, they both cost the same price – coming in at £4.65.
