Man cancels honeymoon after new wife admits editing his son out of their wedding photos

The anonymous man took to Reddit to explain why he cancelled the honeymoon

Looking back on wedding photos is meant to bring unbridled joy and happiness, but for this one particular couple, it brought anything but.

Taking to the 'AmItheA**hole' Reddit forum, one groom explained how he noticed something, or more someone, missing from his wedding photos.

The man, who did not reveal his real name, said that his 12-year-old son from a previous relationship was missing from the wedding photos despite being heavily involved on the big day.

"At first I was in a state of shock… I thought it was the idiot photographer who did this but then she told me the truth," the groom wrote on Reddit.

The man couldn't believe what his new wife had done at first.

However, once the man questioned why his son was in none of the photos, he was told that his new wife had requested the 12-year-old to be edited out of them.

"At first I was in a state of shock and really couldn't believe it was her," the man revealed.

He added that his wife had always loved his son as if he was one of her own, providing a bunch of situations where she did some rather wonderful things for the young lad.

He continued: "She adored and embraced my son instantly… I 100 per cent knew that my wife loved and got along with him, otherwise we wouldn’t have got married.

"She decorated his room when we got our new apartment, paid for two of his trips, gave him pocket money besides what I give him and always buys him stuff."

So the whole situation is a rather odd one, with the man's wife admitting to asking the photographer to edit out the son so there could be pictures of just the happy couple.

"But that’s bullsh*t because there were still family members that weren't cut out of the photos," the man added.

The man claims when he pointed this out to his new wife she told he him was overreacting, an altercation that took place on their honeymoon of all places.

"I lost my temper because it felt like she was excluding him and the argument escalated," the groom said.

The whole wedding photos fiasco ended in quite the argument.

His wife threatened to call the boy in question at one stage to show he wasn't that bothered he was cut from the photos.

However, this made the man's blood boil ever more, with him adding: "I told her not to get him involved… so then she tried to call her mum.

"My mother-in-law said that my wife didn’t mean it and I should know that as a bride she must've felt overwhelmed so I should be easy on her."

The whole altercation resulted in the honeymoon being cut short, as the man explained: "But I decided to cancel the rest of the honeymoon and just go home. She hasn't stopped crying about it saying I'm being awful and that I keep forgetting everything she's done for my son so far..."

Reddit users had mixed reaction to the ordeal, with one writing: "FFS It's his SON. Not a cousin or friend, his son. Also why would she cut ONLY him out of the photos. THAT is what worries me. If she had done it to other people I'd buy her story but she didn't. I don't think she cares for the boy the way OP thought. You don't cut out people you love, full stop."

However, another argued: "Yes but we have to remember she did keep the originals, she didn't delete them."
