A man in his 30s has sought advice about being in a DINK relationship, after one person admitted they had 'no regrets'.

The fertility rate in the UK is at a record low, with more people than ever before choosing not to have children.

Reasons as to why vary by person, but financial worries, along with career goals and a whole range of other things are more prominent than they have ever been.

One 35-year-old man took to Reddit with his concerns about him and his partner not wanting children.

He outlined his fear about forever living in a DINK (double income no kids) relationship, saying: "I'm 35M and my partner is 30F, she is not interested in having kids and I have always been on the fence about it.

"I do genuinely believe you can have a fulfilling life either way and I'm fine with either decision."

Despite feeling okay with their prospects, he outlined three concerns about the potential of living child-free.

"Being lonely, doing things in free time that doesn't feel superficial, and living life without meaning," he noted.

He explained further: "I sometimes wonder if life is just going to be me and my partner and it sometimes feels like that will not be enough - will the house be super quiet with the two of us? I am also an only child so maybe I feel the lack of a family as it is?"

People rushed to flood the comments with reassurance that life without children can be just as meaningful as with.

One said: "55-year-old DINKS with not one single regret.

"Fact is every year I appreciate the childfree life more and more.

"I realized a long time ago that our purpose in life is to enjoy it.

"We don’t have to have 'meaning'"

They added: "We travel, we do nothing, we see concerts, we love to renovate, we have multiple animals. We do what brings us joy at the moment."

Another DINK couple responded saying: "Love it! You’re our model couple!

"We’re in our 30s and enjoying our childfree life so far! Hopefully we will also achieve the same life status as yours."

There are, of course, plenty of reasons why couples choose to be child free.

Some just enjoying being an aunt or uncle - because handing them back to mum and dad at the end of the day is the best part!

Financial freedom is another huge contributing factor, as childcare costs soar, and they grow out of clothes in 0.2 seconds.

One user advised the couple to 'just enjoy the ride' of life.
