Dating expert sparks debate after revealing shocking new relationship trend ‘the box theory’

There are five categories, which one are you?

Dating is a minefield, and with some of the latest trends, it's pretty understandable that you might just want to swear off love and embrace celibacy.

But the latest dating trend is one that has sparked huge debate and has many of us discussing whether it's right or wrong.

The 'box theory' dating trend, by dating coach Anwar White, is quite literally what it says on the tin - it's putting people into categories, and apparently there are five that men put women into before they decide whether to date them or not.

The 'desperate' girl

The lowest rate and is described as trying to get men to like her, chasing a potential partner and it means a man "doesn't have to work hard".

The 'good time' girl

This woman isn't someone a man is planning to show off but is there literally 'for a good time'.

The 'good enough' girl

This rather insulting moniker sums up women that a man is 'settling' with, and you can tell you've been put in this category if your partner isn't doing nice things for you.

The 'dream' girl

A woman that excites and is what a man is looking for. Described as "wife material", this is what men are thought to be looking for.

The 'out of his league' girl

This one is thought to sum up a woman that a man wants, but ultimately is described as 'the most dangerous' category. According to the theory, this is the girl that a man will use to bring himself up but will 'resent' them in the long run and potentially try to bring them down by humbling them or even cheating on them.

If you're still with me, then well done because all of that is enough to make me delete all dating apps and hide in my bed for the rest of summer.

The theory was recently debated in the 'Unwaxed Podcast', where hosts Sophia Stallone and Sistine Stallone discussed the categories and the theory behind it.

They weren't the only ones who felt the theory was true, as one person wrote on Instagram: "The humbling is the truth every single time."

Another added: "Spot on," as someone else said: "Oddly true."

But some criticised the theory, as one person pointed out: "You forgot that most men date all 5, sometimes at the same time.."

And another shared: "No matter what we do , there is always going to be something wrong with 'us'."

One woman pointed out that the only theories that matter should be yourself, as she wrote: "I have 2 categories as a woman: Either you know my value or you don’t.

"I don’t negotiate that when respect is no longer being served or you no longer see my value, I walk away. It’s that simple."
