A Scottish mum has left fellow parents shocked as she shows what she received in her free baby box.

TikToker Rachel Clenaghan shook the internet after sharing her baby box when she was 36 weeks pregnant.

Watch below:

It all started back in 2017 when Scotland started gifting free boxes of baby essentials to all of their newborns.

The Baby Box initiative was launched for all babies born on or after August 15 to 'make sure that Scotland was the best place in the world to grow up in'.

Non-Scottish viewers have watched on with envy as Clenaghan's unboxing went viral.

"The point in the box is so that every baby has got the same start in life," she said in a clip with over two million views, "and the actual box itself is made so that a baby can actually sleep in it."

"Not the American baby box search being parents dropping their kids off at a fire station," another added.

While a fourth said: "Amazing what can be done with taxes when a society/government prioritizes people over corporations..."

A fifth penned: "I absolutely adore that every parent gets a baby box regardless of socioeconomic status."

As someone else also wrote: "If america did this I feel like parents especially single moms would have a way better start and wouldn't have to worry and struggle as much."

"In America they’d give you this box and in about 3 months you’d get a bill for it followed by a notification that all the contents are recalled," a final person concluded.

"Scotland's Baby Box is a safe and comfortable place for your baby to sleep and gives you some of the essentials for the early months of a new baby's life. It includes things like: a mattress, fitted sheet and blanket that fit the box perfectly. a selection of clothes from newborn up to the age of 6 months," NHS Scotland wrote on its website.
