One of the worst things about potentially months of impending isolation is its timing. Couldn't this have all happened at the start of winter, instead of *just* as the weather is beginning to brighten up?

In the summer months, we'd usually be rushing to the beach, towel and sunglasses in hand - but it's an outlook that hangs in the balance.

However one couple, whose holiday was cancelled due to Covid-19, decided to make do with the tools at hand, and bring the beach to them.

Like all of us, Keith and Liz Wheatley are currently isolating at home, after missing out on visiting their summer bolthole in Cornwall, where Liz grew up.

Not letting the situation get them down, the couple gathered up all the rocks and stones they could and tried to recreate the seaside in their living room in Hertfordshire.

As luck would have it, Keith is an artificial rock dealer, so had no shortage of props to set the scene.

"We live in Hertfordshire and have a holiday home where Liz grew up in Bude," he said.

"We always receive a very warm welcome in Bude but decided not to let the property or go ourselves after reflecting on the limited critical care beds in the area.

"Our local beach, Crooklets, is a pebble beach with a beautiful stretch of sand when the tide goes out.

"As with many others my business is rather quiet at the moment and to entertain our friends and to pass some time, we decided to recreate Crooklets beach just to send to friends on Whatsapp."

Keith also shared the video on his Instagram account to provide some giggles for his followers - and it did not disappoint.

The vid shows Liz sitting on an RNLI beach towel in shorts and a T-shirt, wearing sunglasses and a hat. Liz sits on a bed of stones and pebbles, with a windbreaker behind her, while seaside noises play in the background.

Keith, 60, asks his wife: "I thought we weren't supposed to be going out at the moment?" Liz replies: "I'm not - I'm in the lounge."

The camera then pans up to show the couple aren't at the beach, but in fact in their living room. Could have fooled us!

10/10, guys.
