Any parent out there will know all about the faff and hassle of bundling up their little one in a winter coat during the chilly seasons.

Well, to help remedy the age-old problem, one mum has shared a simple coat hack for kids that 'wins every time' with her partner, offering a step-by-step demonstration of how to do it.

The doting dad in question is none other than Made In Chelsea star Ryan Libbey, demonstrating the hack on his almost-two-year-old son Leo. Have a look:

Leo's mom, Louise Thompson - sister of I'm A Celebrity star Sam Thompson - shared the adorable video on social media, and her fiancé Ryan has since received heaps of praise online for his clever coat trick.

"Our nursery taught us this genius hack to try at home", Louise captioned the heart-warming video.

In the TikTok clip, Ryan asks his adorable tot to lie the coat down on the floor, facing up, with the hood closest to him.

He then tells Leo to lean forward and put his arms through the holes, and then lift the coat over his head, with the coat subsequently sliding down the youngsters arms and keeping him warm.

"Good boy!" Ryan then smothers him with kisses. "You did it, you did it! You clever little sausage!"

Fans were quick to praise the duo for their genius hack, with many describing the movement as 'the montessori coat flip', inspired by the late Italian educator of the same name.

One gushed: "I'm a preschool teacher and this is how we teach our children to put their own coats on. Wins every time!"

Another added: "I'm using that one [laughing emojis], while another teased: "Me as an adult, taking notes".

Experts at M&S Kidswear have since offered their expertise on why this hack works and other ways you can encourage your little ones to keep warm in the chilly weather.

They say: "This ingenious hack that Mums on social media are loving encourages your child to have fun whilst keeping warm. You simply place the baby’s coat on the floor, with the hood facing towards them and encourage the child to crouch down and put their arms in the coat first, flipping it over and onto themselves when standing up.

"Taking a different approach makes the action interesting for little ones and gives them a sense of independence, unlike being zipped into a jacket by their parents."

Fans were loving the 'genius' hack.

The experts added: "There’s one simple solution to keeping little ones warm: layers, layers and more layers. Start with a thermal vest, which is insulating but breathable. Add a long-sleeved T-shirt and a thick-knitted jumper.

"Layer a padded gilet under their winter coat if they’re going to be outside for a long time and slip longjohns under their jeans. Finish with warm thermal accessories, like super cosy tights and socks, and they’ll be snug as a bug.

"Picking the right winter coat is crucial when it comes to beating the cold. The perfect option for chilly little ones? A practical, warm and super-soft duvet coat. A padded coat has a longline shape to protect more of their bodies from icy temperatures as well as a cosy borg lining.

"Little ears get cold quickly, so finish off their outfits with a playful pom-pom hat. If the forecast is snowy, choose a trapper hat with a warm borg lining. They’ll probably lose at least one pair of gloves this winter, so try a multi-pack of kids’ gloves, which stretch to accommodate growing fingers."

Toasty.
