Somehow we've blinked and it's now November with just a matter of weeks to go now until Christmas.

Now, apart from pottering about festive markets, going ice skating and drinking your body weight in mulled wine, it's indisputable that one thing we all love to do when the weather gets chilly this time of year is cosy up to a proper feel-good film.

So, be sure you're prepped against the trap of aimlessly scrolling through Netflix to figure out what to watch and make a note of this list of 'secret codes' to unlock a hidden feature that will change your life for the better.

Not familiar with the life hack?

Well, Tudum explains: "Your Netflix queue is always stacked with movies and shows to hit play on, but what you might not know is that there’s a hidden way to make that viewing experience even better."

An 'always growing' list that dates back to the earliest days of the streamer company already tops 36,000 - yes that many - secret codes making it the perfect little tool for armchair critics who either know exactly what they want to watch or want to try something entirely new.

Basically, it's like ordering off a secret streaming menu where all need to do to explore the cornucopia of categories is to simply open up your web browser, type in 'netflix.com/browse/genre/' and then add your ID code of choice to the end of the URL.

So, to help you out, we've rounded up the best Netflix Christmas codes which will make your winter that little bit more magical.

The categories in question are delightfully specific including 'Feel-good Christmas Children & Family Films', 'Christmas Children & Family Films from the 1990s' and, lastly, good old 'Romantic Christmas Films'.

  • Feel-good Christmas Children & Family Films - 1475066
  • Goofy Christmas Children & Family Films - 1475071

  • European Christmas Children & Family Films - 1527063
  • Canadian Christmas Children & Family Films - 1721544
  • Twisted Christmas - 2300975

Other non-Crimbo categories include 'Deep Sea Horror Movies' (45028), 'Spicy Romance' (81572628), 'Steamy Romantic Movies' (35800) and 'Lavish Reality Lifestyles' (81418611).

Additionally, you can try out 'Binge-Worthy British Crime TV Shows' (1192582) and 'Gal-Pal TV Shows' (1143288) for some weekend binge-watching.
