Opening up our little packed bag at lunch time was always a 50/50 moment. Were we about to be overwhelmingly disappointed or were we about to find our favourite snacks ever.

There was no feeling like finding out you’d got a tasty treat in your packed lunch as a kid.

But now we’re adults, they seem to be topic of hot debate.

From nurseries banning certain snacks to sending home passive-aggressive post it notes to parents, it seems hard to get it right.

One woman is being totally hit by mum-shamers for how she packs her daughter’s lunch.

And that woman is 23-year-old Lauryn Efird, who you may know better as Pumpkin – one of the daughters of Mama June.

Lauryn has four children with husband Josh Efird: Ella, five, Bentley, three, and one-year-old twins, Stella and Sylus.

The famous mum shared a snap of Ella’s packed lunch to her Instagram story, accompanied by a melting-face emoji and love-hearts face.

Inside the pink box was strawberries, frozen grapes and a load of what seems to be mozzarella sticks.

As reported by the US Sun, fans of Pumpkin slammed her food choices on Reddit, writing: “Who the f**k gives their kids mozzarella sticks for lunch?”

Others slated it as ‘so dangerous and unhealthy’ as one claimed: “That’s too much cheese for a 5 yr old. Hell, it’s too much cheese for an adult really.”

One also put: “I’m more disturbed by the quantity here. It’s the fact that she’s being taught to eat like this.”

There is an important thing to consider though, and that’s how fussy a lot of kids can be with their food.

There’s always the possibility little Ella won’t eat much else than mozzarella sticks – we all have our vices. Or even that this was simply just part of her meal and there was other bits to be added.

In June 2022, Lauryn was also granted sole custody of her younger sister Alana, 18, – also known as Honey Boo Boo, the name that launched the family into fame way back when.

Alana told Entertainment Tonight that she is headed to Regis University in Denver, Colorado, this fall to study nursing.

She also revealed she’ll be living off campus ‘for security reasons’ with her boyfriend of three years, Dralin Carswell.

Alana had been living with sister Lauryn, who gave her approval on the move: “You don’t truly know somebody until you move in with somebody.”
