A dad-of-four almost sparked anarchy on TikTok after boldly declaring that he doesn't help his wife with household chores.

J.R. Minton seemed to spark an eyebrow raising rant about the struggles of being a man in the first few seconds of his video.

The UPS driver, 32, began the clip by saying that he point blank refuses to assist his wife Brittany, a stay-at-home mum, with domestic tasks.

He said nonchalantly: "I don't help my wife cook, I don't help her clean, do laundry, take care of the kids, none of that."

Although you may be preparing to let rip at the bloke for his seemingly sexist comments, all is not as it seems.

But if his opening sentence was enough to make you switch off, you may have quite the different view of Minton.

After a brief pause, he continued his monologue that had outraged mums around the world in the first seven seconds.

"Because I do what I am supposed to do as a father and a husband," he said in the clip uploaded to his account @minton__jr.

"I cook, I clean, I do the laundry, I take care of the kids. I can't help my wife do those things because they are my job too. Change the way you speak, change the way you think.

"And grow the f**k up and be a man."

Well, Minton certainly made quite the turn around - so put down your pitchforks ladies.

His take on the division of household chores fooled millions of TikTok users, who presumed he was going on to suggest Brittany should pick up all the slack.

But the UPS worker surprised us all by instead acknowledging that this isn't the 1900s and women aren't just supposed to solely run the home and look after the children.

So don't worry, Minton's wife isn't forced to tend to four kids while scrubbing the floors like Cinderella.

Social media users welcomed his stance on juggling jobs around the house with his wife, after they had calmed down.

One comment read: "I was waiting for the 'because I don't have a wife and kids.' But this is even better," while another said: "I was ready to fight!"

A third added: "I got mad real quick then my mood chilled quicker than Usain Bolt runs. Well said bro!"

A fourth wrote: "You are a real man, husband and father. You sir are the example to follow."

The dad-of-four explained that he and Brittany divide their responsibilities equally.

Minton told Today.com that he and Brittany split all chores and household responsibilities, as well as the care of their children.

"Pretty much everything about my parenting style is in spite of what I saw when I was growing up," he added.

He recalled taking his four youngsters to Target recently and being praised by a fellow shopper despite him doing 'the bare minimum'.

The dad explained: "I was wearing the baby and I had two kids in the cart, and this lady comes up to Brittany and she’s like, ‘Oh my God.

"Is this your husband!? Look at him. You should take a picture of him. I get so much credit for doing nothing. How low is the bar?"

To answer his question - extremely.
