An astrologer has revealed which star signs are most likely to be affected by the New Moon.

Now, if you've been feeling a little out of sorts recently, the cosmos may be to blame, given that we're in the midst of the Mercury Retrograde, which started last month (25 November) and is set to go on for another few weeks (15 December).

Additionally, the New Moon in Sagittarius graced our skies last week (1 December) and, according to celebrity psychic and astrologer Inbaal Honigman, this is a time of 'hope and renewal' which will bring 'new opportunities around work, home, and love'.

But, before we get into the top zodiac signs affected by the event, let's get into all the ins and outs of the New Moon.

What is the New Moon in Sagittarius?

"The astrological sign of Sagittarius is represented by the Archer," Inbaal tells us. "It is a sign of adventure, growth and travel."

Because of this, the time of Sagittarius can represent expansion and wealth.

Sagittarius season, which is between November 21 and December 21, also overlaps with the festive season almost exactly, with the expert explaining: "This new moon appears at a time for merriment and inspires us to make future decisions based on what would be the most fun for us - colourful clothes, louder friends, and a home closer to the seaside.

"The period of the new moon in Sagittarius is a time to throw caution to the wind and listen to the voice of adventure - where would we like to find ourselves, this time next year?"

How does the New Moon affect friendships and relationships?

Now, the New Moon is also a time for new beginnings, with Inbaal giving us the heads up that 'freshness is expected in all fields of life and love'.

She continued: "Making new friends will happen organically. Saying goodbye to old habits is equally important, as the fun-loving lightness of the Sagittarius new moon does not appreciate being dragged down by old obligations."

So, now we know a little more about the current moon, let's get into the top three zodiac signs most affected by it and why.

Sagittarius

Inbaal tells us that both the Sun and the Moon are in Sagittarius during this period of the New Moon, which means they’ll feel it more than others.

"The adventurous and fun-loving sign of Sagittarius will make the most of this period of reimagining," she explained. "Adventures come naturally to Sagittarians, so they won't hold back when they apply for a new job, send a message to their crush from the gym, or paint their whole apartment mint green on a whim."

According to the expert, endings are 'not mournful' for Sagittarius, so they'll feel light and refreshed, 'waving goodbye to old friends and situations which no longer serve them'.

Now, the Sagittarius polar opposite is Gemini, and the Gemini full moon is about to appear next week (15 December).

Inbaal says: "Gemini might be on the furthest part of the sky from Sagittarius, but it is a similarly colourful and sociable sign.

"Gemini will be moved by the Sagittarius new moon to step out of their comfort zone and meet up with people who they'd normally be a little afraid of.

"The big achievers, the dreamers, the loud change makers - Gemini is about to make friends with some very interesting personalities!"

And last on the rundown is Cancer, which is ruled by the moon.

Because of this, new moons and full moons 'often touch Cancer more than they affect other signs'.

According to Inbaal, this new moon will help Cancer out of their 'normal bashful existence' and they'll feel more excited to take steps that change their lives for the better.

"Saying yes to opportunities will feel more appropriate to them at this time," she adds.
