Mercury retrograde never feels great, but it could be particularly brutal for four star signs, an astrologer has warned.

Mercury entered retrograde on 25 November, so if you've been feeling out of sorts over the last couple of days, there could be a simple explanation.

What is the Mercury retrograde?

The Mercury retrograde is an optical illusion in which the planet appears to move in the opposite direction.

It occurs around three or four times a year, appearing like it's moving from east to west instead of west to east.

It's believed that the retrograde triggers challenges relating to organisation, technology and communication.

So if you've been having travel delays, mortifying miscommunications or arguments with your partner, it could all be related to the cosmic phenomenon.

This time, Mercury is in retrograde in Sagittarius - and it's pretty significant for four signs in particular, according to Neda, an astrologer at the dating app Flirtini.

Here's what's in store...

Gemini

Neda explains that Gemini will be especially sensitive over the retrograde.

The astrologer warns: "Be super cautious with how you express yourself, especially if you’re doing long-distance or using dating apps. Miscommunication can easily occur."

Neda explains that in general, it's best to over-communicate in this period. For example, avoid vague messages and 'read your messages carefully before hitting send to ensure your tone is clear'.

Virgo

(Tyla)

Like Gemini, it's a sensitive time for Earth sign, Virgo, who might feel 'overly critical or anxious about dating plans'.

It's best to refrain from overanalysing and focus on staying present during this period.

Neda explains that it's essential to 'slow down, listen actively, and avoid making assumptions'.

Sagittarius

With the retrograde occurring in Sagittarius, Neda is warning the fire sign not to feel 'personally impacted' by the cosmic shift.

"Watch for tendencies to overpromise or idealise a new connection too quickly. Slow down and ensure your words and actions align with your intentions," says the astrologer.

"This is also a time to reflect on how your optimism and honesty influence your romantic relationships."

With the retrograde continuing until 15 December, Neda says patience and adaptability are essential, adding: "Adaptability is key. Treat this as a chance to practice patience and make light of the situation to impress your date."

Pisces

Neda warns Pisces to tread carefully when it comes to people 'from the past' and avoid being 'swept up'.

"With Neptune’s ongoing influence in your sign, this retrograde could heighten emotional confusion or idealism," says Neda.

"If someone from the past reappears, tread carefully. Don’t become swept up in romantic fantasies before considering whether the relationship has real potential."

You've been warned, Pisces!
