A woman has hit back at people online after she was slammed for leaving her three-month-old daughter with her dad for 48 hours.

Ashy Bines, 33, from the Gold Coast in Australia, went away for less than two days for a girls' weekend with friends.

Meanwhile, her husband Steve looked after their daughter, Tala, and their seven-year-old son, Taj.

But Ashy was shocked when, after posting about the weekend, she was met with abusive comments from followers who shamed her for going away without her baby.

One message read: “How COULD you leave your baby with Steve for that long? That’s so wrong”.

Posting about the comments she received, Ashy took to her Instagram to discuss.

"I know judgment has come flying my way leaving her for 48 hours BUT hear me out," she wrote.

"I LOVE my baby but also LOVE my friends. I LOVE my baby but also love travel and variety.

"I LOVE my baby but also love doing fun things just for me. I LOVE my baby and fully trust and love Steve having his bonding time with the kids and can enjoy myself knowing they are happy and safe!"

Ashy continued by explaining she felt it was wrong that others had taken such an issue with her trip - especially considering the children had been left with their father.

"I think it’s wrong for other women to think it’s wrong, send such a message and also why would I have children with someone I don’t trust. Wrong to leave my kids with their dad?" She continued.

"If a dad went away for 48 hours he’s never even questioned?"

The mum urged others to be kind to each other, adding: "Mummas let’s be kind to one another and not project or send hate to another mum who’s doing her thing. Might not feel right for you and that’s ok, we all do exactly what feels good for us.

"PS: this message didn’t upset me at all, not in the slightest... but did inspire me to write this caption to have a conversation or create awareness for mummas, and remind other mums its ok for you to have a life and enjoy other parts of your life not just mum life OR just need a break."

Other mums were quick to support Ashy.

Other mums thanked Ashy for being so honest, and flooded the comments with support.

One person wrote: "Mental that someone could find it so inconceivable that Tala’s very capable dad has her for 48 hours... and I agree, if it were the other way around nobody would bat an eye."

While another said: "My favourite is when people ask if my hubby is babysitting if I have a very rare night out for dinner or something. I’m like babysitting?? No just parenting LOL."
