Mounjaro user reveals NSFW side effect she's experienced during weight loss journey

Jackie Collins was nearly 18 stone at her heaviest, and now she weighs 15 stone after using Mounjaro

A woman has been experiencing a strange side effect that has come from taking Mounjaro, and it’s definitely not something that’s PG.

We have all heard about the side effects that come from taking weight-loss drugs, or drugs intended for treating Type-2 diabetes that have been popularised for weight management, such as Ozempic.

But this one takes the cake.

While common side effects of Mounjaro, an injectable prescription medicine that improves and lowers blood sugar levels in adults with Type-2 diabetes, typically are digestive-related - Jackie Collins has found herself being rather flushed because of the drug.

It works by activating two receptors (GLP-1 and GIP) to increase the level of hormones in the body, as per Diabetes.org. This helps the body to produce more insulin and lower blood sugar levels, as well as slow down how quickly food is digested.

Anyone with obesity in the UK can gain access to Mounjaro via their GP services in England, but you need to have your BMI over 40, as well as four weight-related conditions to be eligible.

Jackie, 44, noted how she was 17st 11lbs and a size 18 at her heaviest.

After suffering from the ‘vicious circle’ of diets, she knew she had to do something, which is where the drug came into play, allowing her to lose three stone in just six months.

Jackie began Mounjaro in February on a 2.5mg dosage, and after moving up through the doses, along with sticking to a healthy, balanced diet, she now weighs 15 stone exactly and is a size 14.

However, little did she know that the drug would come with such a strange side effect.

Jackie, who said she went from having sex with her partner a couple of times a month, now says she’s going at it four times a week.

She said: "Before, the times we were intimate were few and far between - I didn't feel sexy, so how could he find me sexy? It never happened.

"I always said it was never him; it was me. But since I've started getting that confidence back, the passions come back. We've gone from a couple of times a month to three or four times a week. We're like kids again, which is great."

Ever since taking the drug, she admitted to having ‘so much more confidence’, detailing a moment where she bought a red dress that was popping at the buttons due to not fitting properly.

But now, she said, ‘I went and saw Craig David and now I was able to wear the dress and I felt amazing. I felt and looked good."

Before taking Mounjaro, Jackie admitted that her eating habits were not great, with her totally skipping breakfast, eating a sandwich, packet of crips and a chocolate bar, before snacking on sweets for lunch.

Then for dinner, she’d have a big bowl of creamy pasta, and big bags of crisps.

Now? Jackie says she eats bran flakes, with banana or other fruit, a tuna salad for lunch and a couple of pork steaks with sweetcorn and jacket potato for dinner.
