Man storms out of 'absolute disaster' first date after learning about her dietary requirements

The TikToker recalled his 'disaster' of a date after moving to LA

A French man living in LA has described walking out of a 'disaster' of a first date after learning about the woman's dietary requirements.

We've all had first dates that haven't quite gone to plan, with issues ranging from catfishes to the fact that you just don't click in-person like you did through the phone screen.

It takes a lot, however, for people to walk out in the middle of a date, and for actor Renan Pacheco, that was learning about all the things he wouldn't be able to share with his date if they pursued a future together.

The French actor has been documenting his 'crazy life' in LA for his thousands of followers on TikTok after he recently moved to the city, and in a post last week he recounted his first date with an American woman.

Though he sounded excited at first, Pacheco quickly made clear that the date wasn't going to lead to anything by using the word 'disaster' three times in a row.

He managed to get over the fact the woman didn't have 'his favourite name', which was Kimberley, but things only went downhill from there.

Pacheco described the date as an 'absolute disaster'.

Pacheco recalled: "We sit down, we take the menu and she looks me in the eyes and she tells me she doesn't eat gluten."

The actor simply could not get his head around this, apparently questioning everything he'd ever known as he commented: "Gluten is my life."

Now, Pacheco didn't clarify whether Kimberley's gluten-free diet was simply a choice she'd made for herself, or the result of a gluten allergy.

Because while croissants and baguettes are 'life' for a lot of people like Pacheco, unfortunately those with coeliac disease can experience diarrhoea, abdominal pain and bloating if they eat gluten, so it's really not worth it.

If Kimberley does have coeliac disease, her choice not to eat gluten is entirely understandable, and not a good reason to walk out on a date.

If it's a mere life choice, though, it's obviously an indication that her and Pacheco just aren't meant to be.

The actor decided to have a glass of wine to help him process the whole gluten debacle, and it was at that point that he learned Kimberley doesn't drink alcohol.

Again, there are a myriad of reasons that could have been behind this choice, but sadly it was just another contributing factor to the quick deterioration of her relationship with Pacheco.

The TikTok user announced that he left the restaurant without saying goodbye, adding: "I couldn't stay there, I'm sorry but I can't have a love relationship with someone who doesn't eat gluten and doesn't drink wine, I'm sorry Kimberley."

Pacheco was flooded with comments after sharing his experience, with some sharing their amusement over his tale while others pointed out that Kimberley likely had her reasons for her diet.

Hopefully she'll go on to find someone who welcomes her gluten and wine-free life with open arms.
