Texan Castle Has A Pack Of Llamas You Can Take On Walks

We might need to take a last-minute trip to the US...

If you love llamas as much as we do, you'll be happy to know you can now visit a 'llama castle' filled with the friendly animals.

ShangriLlama Castle in Texas, is home to several llamas who go by a number of different quirky names including Barack O'Llama and Dalai Llama - who is the king of the castle, FYI.

The castle - nestled in the breathtaking countryside of Royse City - is open to visitors and offers a selection of llama-themed activities, including 'Llama Walks'.

Guests can take the adorable pack on a two-and-a-half-hour trek along scenic trails within the grounds of the building.

AND you can swap llamas with other members of the group during your walk, so you'll have the opportunity to spend time with all seven of the pack.

There's also the opportunity to snap a few keepsake photos, too "for the llama-gram".

The castle encourages guests to wear comfortable clothing, flat, closed toe boots and food is strictly forbidden - after all, anyone who has ever fed a llama will know they can be a little greedy.

There's also 'Llama Lessons' held inside the Castle Barn where guests can learn over 150 fun facts about the breed during the one-hour session.

Taught by a 'Llama Queen' and 'Llama Princess' you'll hear all about the friendly breed, how they *are* different from alpacas, the ways in which they communicate and their favourite foods.

But the fun doesn't stop there. The castle is also available to book for weddings and parties, meaning you can make the llamas part of your special event.

The building and grounds will be available for hire from Valentine's Day this year and the venue even recommend having one of the llamas part of your bridal party, should you decide to choose the castle for your wedding.

"You may opt to include one or more of our beautiful, pedigreed llamas in your bridal procession, or delight your guests with a Llama Meet & Greet!" they suggest.

The castle is home to seven beautiful llamas: King of the Castle Barn, Dalai Llama; Prince, Barack O'Llama; Duke, Como T.Llama; Earl, Bahama Llama; Viscount, Pyjama Llama; Baron Drama Llama and Knight, Sir Lance O'Llama.

And visitors have been raving about the castle and its adorable llamas online, with several taking to the Facebook page to leave glowing reviews.

One wrote: "My two besties and I visited ShangriLlama for a Llama Lesson and we had the BEST time.

"The llamas were so friendly and fun to be around. They all had such unique characteristics and personalities. Mama, Papa & Lady Llama were all such gracious hosts and so knowledgeable.

"I will be going back for the llama walk. I highly recommend this experience!"
