These Phone Vaults Are Perfect To Stop People Going On Their Mobiles At Christmas Dinner

We all have a family member who desperately needs this.

We live in 2019, and device use - or more, over-use - is a legitimate point of contention among families.

There's always one relative who rarely lifts their heads from their phone, and another who becomes incensed by the mere sight of mobile phones in family situations.

Clashes ensue - and this is never truer than of Christmas. So what do you say to a gadget that ends all device-related rows by removing them altogether

The Table Top Gadget Prison by The Works works as a cell for all manner of mobile phones, iPads and more, so you can focus on having some good old fashioned conversation.

You and you family's gadgets can be place in the plastic lockable jail, so there's no temptation to have a scroll mid-Christmas dinner.

"Sentenced for disturbing the peace," the phones remained incarcerated until there's a mutual agreement to let them out.

Sold online at The Works for just £5 and £2.99 for standard delivery, the clever prison is described as "A fun way to get everyone's attention, whether in meetings, at dinner time and much more."

We personally love the sound of this - but who gets to keep the keys?

First spotted on Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, the vault sounds like it'll be a sell-out for families judging by the comments.

"I've found your Christmas present!," said one person, tagging their phone-obsessed friend.

"Should get this for Christmas day while we have Christmas dinner??," asked another, tagging a loved one.

"Phones and pads are banned at my table, and I made a rule at family meals out... first to touch their phone, pays the bill!" wrote another.

"Maybe useful for the pub as well, get more people talking rather than being zombies to their phones," penned another.

For one lady, she was thinking of purchasing the prison for a whole different reason: "I need this for chocolate."

We feel ya.
