Whether it's fish, mice, or that portion of chips you just purchased at the seaside, seagulls are known for getting their teeth around anything.
However the one thing you don't expect them to level in on for a meal is your pet dog, but this is exactly what happened to one woman over the weekend when a seagull flew off with her pet chihuahua.
Gizmo, a four-year-old chihuahua, was relaxing in his owner Becca Hill's garden in Devon, England, when the gull swooped down and picked him up, flying away with him.

Speaking to Devon Live, the 24-year-old said she was devastated by the loss of her brown and white pooch. "It carried Gizmo a fair way as we couldn't see him anymore. I have no idea if he was dropped or where he is now," she said.
It's not known where Gizmo is now, or whether he's still alive, but his owners have put out pleas for his safe return. Becca wrote on Facebook: "Please, please, please, anyone finds a chihuahua he's mine, a seagull took him from my garden," adding: "Have a really upset 6 year old missing her dog."
If this news has you putting your small dog on a house ban then hold your horses, as this kind of incident is very rare according to the RSPCA.

The charity told The Sun: ""Fortunately these types of incidents are very rare and not typical gull behaviour." They added: "Our hearts go out to Gizmo's family and we hope he is found soon and is OK. This must be extremely upsetting for the dog's owner."
While these events are uncommon, there have been known incidents of small dogs, particularly newborn pups, being mistaken for prey by birds of prey such as hawks, eagles, owls and falcons.
