People Are Just Discovering Vans Trainers Always Land The Right Way Up

TikTok users are discovering Vans trainers seem to lie the right way up however you throw them.

We've learnt so many life lessons from TikTok, but this next one might be the most mind-blowing of the lot.

Did you know that if you throw your Vans trainers on the floor, they'll always land the right way up?

Yep, we're honestly as shook as you.

Watch a video below:

The hack was first brought to our attention on the video sharing app thanks to user, @cookie1801, who told followers: "When you throw vans they will always land the right way".

And when fellow user @hopjuiceipa spotted the vid, he tried it for himself, sharing the results with not one but three pairs of the trainers.

(Yes, they all landed on their soles...)

"What?," he could be seen saying, before adding: "Sweet baby Jesus," after he witnessed the result.

"I just did it with my Vans and it worked!," one person wrote.

While another penned: "This is incredible".

"Yooo that's off the wall man," said someone else, referencing the trainer's catch-phrase.

A fourth wrote: "Witchcraft".

While it might seem like magic, the answer essentially comes down to physics. You see, Vans are skate shoes, so they're designed with a specific weight distribution between the sneakers and the soles.

Basically, they're made with heavy rubber on the soles for the very purpose of landing the right way up, so that the skaters who wear them can land properly while wearing them.

And the gravitational pull is bigger because of the thick sole, meaning - you guessed it - the shoe is pulled harder by its sole to the ground.

The thicker sole also protects the skater's foot and softens the blow of hard landings.

It's not just Vans which are likely to fall on their soles, so are any other shoes with heavy bottoms, like Crocs and Doc Martens.

Brb, we're off to chuck our shoes down the stairs. Who said TikTok wasn't educational?!
