It's been nine long weeks of lockdown and with the weather hotting up, many of us are missing our usual summer activities, such as trips to the beach.

But there's a solution. DIY whizzes are now bringing a slice of the beach to their own back gardens.

First spotted on Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, clever shoppers are transforming their outdoor areas into faux tropical paradises.

Milliee Amilliee transformed her back garden in Strelley, Nottingham, into an incredible beach scene for her three children.

The 34-year-old sourced all her materials from Amazon and eBay where she set to bringing a slice of the tropics to her home.

Milliee ordered a load of sand, inflatable palm trees and a beach backdrop to create the amazing scene.

She then decorated with Hawaiian-style hula trimming and a even made a miniature climbing wall for her kids out of an old palette. How clever!

Milliee tells Tyla that her children and French Bulldog are "loving" their beach at home.

Other savvy shoppers have also been creating beach themes in their back gardens as a lockdown project, with some interchanging sand with stones.

One, Marie Ashton, decided to paint a bench blue for an authentic seaside feel, alongside a beach backdrop and pebbles.

Another, Elaine Parker Burns, went one step further and painted a bare brick wall that surrounded her garden with a stunning beach and waves scene.

We're loving these clever ideas! All that's missing is a some fish and chips doused in salt and vinegar...
