Flight attendant explains why you should always leave a shoe in hotel safe
While there are plenty of travel hacks and tips out there, sometimes it's the simplest ones that prove to be the most effective - as proven by a flight attendant, her shoe and a safe.

Flight attendants know a thing or two about travel, and Esther Sturrus (@esthertravels) has decided to turn her intel into helpful online advice so that others can benefit from her wisdom.

Esther, who works as a flight attendant for Duty airline KLM, has travelled all over the world and stayed in countless hotels as part of her job, regularly sharing the incredible day-to-day life in the skies on TikTok.
In an effort to make travelling safer and easier for all of us, she previously revealed why you should leave one shoe in your hotel room safe.
It sounds a bit strange, but hear us out - it totally works.
Whether it's jewellery, cash, a passport or a pricey souvenir, we’ve all had second thoughts about storing something precious in a safe.
That's because all to many of us know there's a high chance we'll forget those valuables, forgetting to check the safe as we pack up - especially if you're rushing out on your departure day to catch breakfast before you head home.
However, Esther said if you put your shoe in the safe alongside your valuable item, you won't forget it, as you'll obviously need both shoes before leaving the room.
The hack was included in a compilation of handy tips for the next time you’re staying in a hotel.
Esther said: “Worried about forgetting something from your locker? Put your heel or shoe in it and you won't forget it.”
Why didn’t we think of this sooner?
Other hacks Esther detailed in the video included pinning blackout curtains together with a clothes hanger in the areas there are gaps.
Another great idea involves using shower curtains to cover the bottoms of shoes to avoid your clothes and other items getting dirty when you pack them in your suitcase.
And what do you do if your international charger breaks? Fear not, simply plug the USB end into the TV in your hotel room and voila, you're all charged up!
