The grandmother who made headlines for getting into a relationship with a man 46 years younger than her is still showing off her happy marriage three years later.

Iris Jones, who is in her 80s, sent This Morning viewers into a frenzy when she appeared on the talk show in 2020 and revealed a little more than people had bargained for by discussing her sex life with Mohamed Ahmed Ibriham.

Iris and Mohamed, who is in his mid-30s, met on Facebook in 2019. They struck up a relationship and in 2020 the gran travelled to Egypt to marry him - a union they celebrated at a local KFC.

Iris told This Morning hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby that her family didn't approve of the relationship, saying at the time she was 'getting the silent treatment', but that all that mattered was that she and Mohamed love each other.

Iris used her opportunity on the show to appeal to the then-prime minister for a visa for Mohamed, saying: "We desperately need to get Mohamed to the UK, so if Boris Johnson is listening, do your best and get the whip out and get Mohamed a visa for the UK.

"He would be an asset to the country, he's a qualified engineer and he would be good for the economy. He would work, I would make sure of that."

After a year-long wait, Iris' wish came true as Mohamed was granted a three-year visa in November 2021 and moved in to Iris' Weston-super-Mare home.

Three years on, Iris still sharing snaps of herself and her husband happily enjoying their lives together. Last month she posted a selfie of the two of them, writing: "I just like our smiles."

Mohamed has previously discussed his love for Iris in an interview with MailOnline, admitting he was 'very nervous' about meeting her for the first time, but adding: "The moment I laid eyes on her I knew that it was true love. I’m a very lucky man to have found a woman like this."

"I don’t care where we live or how rich or poor she is, I just want to be with Iris," Mohamed continued.

"People think I am with her for all the wrong reasons. I know Britain is a beautiful country and a lot of people want to go there but I’m not bothered. I'm prepared to live with her anywhere in the world."

Though Iris and Mohamed have received some criticism over their age gap, the pair also receive a lot of positive comments from followers online.
