A woman has opened up after a video of her having an unfortunate fall on the treadmill went viral.

It's extremely unlucky, I do feel bad - and a burning second-hand embarrassment - for the woman involved, and we really shouldn't laugh. But like when a teacher tells you not to giggle at the back of the classroom, it just makes it all the more funnier.

If you already get gym anxiety, turn away now, because a woman has gone viral on social media after her jog on the treadmill turned into everyone's worst nightmare.

As if I needed any more reasons not to go to the gym.

Next time you need an excuse not to go to the gym, just watch this.

Alyssa Konkel decided to go to the gym on 24 May. Already having gotten a lot further than most of us, instead of being rewarded for her exercising efforts, the gym gods, unfortunately, did not look down kindly on the 26-year-old.

Dressed in a pink top and black gym leggings, Alyssa took to the treadmill.

Alas, it wasn't long before disaster struck - and to make it even worse, the moment was captured on camera.

It gets even worse.

Alyssa suddenly trips up while on the moving treadmill and desperately reaches out to try and stop her fall.

However, as the 26-year-old clings onto the handles in front of her to stay as upright as possible, her legs dangle below and the spinning treadmill catches onto them, stripping her leggings down to her ankles leaving her bottom semi-naked, with only her pants remaining.

Panic-stricken, she instinctively moves her hands to pull up her leggings, only to face-plant the treadmill before being pelted off the end, catching her bum - and what's left of her dignity - in her hands.

Thank goodness the gym was fairly empty.

The ordeal left Alyssa feeling 'so embarrassed' she had to leave the gym 'immediately'.

Although, not before another gym goer came up to see if she was okay - which albeit kind, would make me want to melt into the floor and disappear even more.

Alyssa later realised the guilty culprit which caused her fall was her shoelace which she spotted was undone when looking back on the footage - going at a 'pretty fast,' impressive, but risky speed of 10 definitely didn't help either.

Both Alyssa's body and dignity were likely left bruised.

Unfortunately for Alyssa, it's not even the first time her pants have been 'sucked off'.

"This happened when I was 10 years old and skinned my chin," she recalls.

This time, Alyssa hurt her 'face, lip knees and shins' but was able to 'immediately pull [her] pants up' like 'a boss' before fleeing the facility.

However, after one too many run-ins, Alyssa is unlikely to ever step on a treadmill again, resolving: "Now I'm really afraid of [them]."
