A flight attendant has revealed why you should never press the call button at specific times of your journey.

Explaining that 'so many people' make the mistake, TikToker @katkamalani revealed it drives flight attendant's 'bonkers' if you press the call button at certain times.

She explained that if you do so, the crew won't be so impressed and went on to say that even if you need to be sick, you shouldn't be pressing it.

Kat explained that you shouldn't be pressing the button while the plane is on the tarmac, or when it's ascending and descending from its journey.

"It drives flight attendants bonkers when you hit your flight attendant button if we are on the tarmac or if we're going up or down on the aircraft," she said.

"And the reason being it's a huge safety issue for us, we could get injured and same with you guys. So if we're on the tarmac, you hit this and it's not some kind of emergency we're going straight back to our seat. "If you hit this while we're going up on the aircraft or we're going down landing, we won't even come to the light we'll come to it afterwards.

"But don't hit this button if you need a barf bag or a blanket, water, headphones, food, any of that stuff because your flight attendant won't be so happy," she added.

And other TikTokers were quick to comment on the video - but not everyone was happy with the advice - with one person writing: "I thought they would just come whenever they thought it was ok. I didn't know they would hold a grudge on it."

While another said: "Why don’t they announce this to us at the beginning of the flight before we move?"

And a third added: "Then you guys need to explain the rules and hand out certain things before takeoff so everyone is comfortable and safe."

Meanwhile a fourth commented: "So you would rather me barf on the floor? Because I will barf on the plane."

Others disagreed however, with one writing: "These comments do not pass the vibe check... 'you should risk your safety cuz I'm cold and can't wait 5 minutes'."

Another added: "It’s a safety issue! No one allowed out of their seats during take off and landing."
