Gran wants eighth child despite 37-year age gap with husband

Gran wants eighth child despite 37-year age gap with husband

A 62-year-old woman wants an eighth child, and her first with her 25-year-old husband

A grandmother with seven children is hoping to have an eighth child with her husband, though they will need to find a surrogate as there's an age gap of more than 30 years between the couple.

62-year-old Cheryl McGregor tied the knot with 25-year-old Quran McCain back in 2021 and the couple have become viral stars on TikTok for live streaming their relationship.

They first met back in 2012 when Quran was 15 and they both worked at the same fast food restaurant, but the only started a relationship back in 2020 when they met up once again.

The couple were married a year later, with Quran live streaming the proposal and the pair of them showing their wedding on TikTok.

Now their plans have turned towards children and while Cheryl says she can't have a baby herself now, there are other options they can pursue.

Cheryl and Quran yesterday (7 March) appeared on This Morning to talk about their family plans and revealed that they've already spoken with three surrogates who may be able to help.

The couple have also not ruled out adoption as another possible means of having a child while they are also looking for other potential surrogates.

The 62-year-old has seven children from a previous relationship and has spoken about the difficulties in getting all of her kids to accept her relationship with Quran.

She said: "It's been a battle with them, us trying to prove to them that it wasn’t a joke.

"Out of my seven children they were saying he was using me, we weren't using each other, we can't help who our hearts fall in love with.

"So it's been a battle, out of seven of my children I really have two but one who really stands by us through everything and it took a while to come to that conclusion that they like him."

The 62-year-old also hit back at accusations that she might be too old to raise a new baby, saying she's 'more energy than half of these kids that are taking care of babies now' and doesn't consider it a problem.

Cheryl and Quran celebrated their first wedding anniversary last September and had previously announced that they had a surrogate lined up for their first child together.

The 25-year-old previously said they were 'lucky we have found the surrogate we have chosen' and they would be expecting their first baby in late spring 2023.
