Love Island UK Winner Julia calls out Lorenzo for liking models' Instagram posts

Love Island 2026 winners Julia Majchrzak and Lorenzo Alessi have finally broken their silence on ‘Instagram gate’.

If you have no idea what we’re talking about, in the days after leaving the Mallorca villa and winning £50,000, eagle-eyed fans noticed that Lorenzo, 28, had been liking Instagram models’ posts.

To make it even more awkward, it came as Julia, 26, revealed on ITV’s This Morning on Monday (3 August) that the businessman was yet to arrange a date with her.

Now, they’ve both been quizzed about exactly what happened in a new interview with Capital Xtra, with Lorenzo being asked if he thought it was appropriate given their new relationship.

Julia brutally responded: “Guys, this is not funny. He's already embarrassed me online... He had no time to arrange a date in five days, but was sat in bed liking other girls' Instagram pictures." Ouch.

Lorenzo explained his reasoning, as he outlined that he’s ‘learning how to be in a committed relationship’ and admitted it was ‘pure naivety’.

He said: "This is the thing. I feel like why I didn't want to rush things in the villa... We're not running around getting married tomorrow. I'm learning how to be in a committed relationship, and I'm learning what is acceptable and what is not.

“To be 100% honest, it was pure naivety. I did not think it would be picked up by the press... These are now real-world things that we can experience together.

Then, according to Capital, Julia pulled out her own phone and checked whether Lorenzo had liked her own pictures - outrageously, he had not.

She questioned: “Did you even have time to like my photos? Guess what guys, he’s not under my Instagram!”

Lorenzo simply laughed it off and said the post simply hadn’t popped up on his Instagram feed yet.

However, despite the little squabble, the pair did confirm that they’re still ‘exclusively dating’ and will continue getting to know each other in the real world.

Lorenzo did post Julia on his Instagram stories a few times this week, documenting what looked to be a dinner date.

It came after that awkward This Morning interview where Julia publicly outed Lorenzo for not taking her out on a date.

Giving a relationship update, Lorenzo said: “As we’ve left the villa, we’re still in the same place. We’re still dating, exclusively dating. It’s gonna turn into something.

“Honestly, it’s been a crazy few days, and yeah, I think everything just needs to settle down, and then we’re going to go on some lovely dates and then we’ll probably fall in love and…”

However, putting him on the spot, Julia didn’t hold back as she joked: “Where’s my date? It’s been five days. I’m still waiting.”

Lorenzo replied: “Look, the date has got a lot of planning involved and stuff. Good things come to those who wait.”
