Have you ever wondered how to tell whether someone was lying to you? An expert revealed all, and what he says is shocking.
Liars are everywhere, and those lies can range anywhere from white lies to major life disruptors.
Sometimes, it’s okay to tell a white lie every now and then.
For example, if you’re sparing someone’s feelings or preferring to lie over telling the truth which might hurt another person.

“Do you think I look old?”... no, of course you don’t!
Meanwhile, she’s 75, but you’re telling her she doesn’t look a day over 50. That’s a nice lie - but other lies can be horrid to find out the truth.

From secret families to affairs and crimes, there’s some lies that will be revealed, and it’s usually thanks to evidence and behaviour analysis.

While some might think they’re experts at lying and getting away with it, there’s a certain indicator that even the most seasoned professional won’t be able to hide.
According to Chase Hughes, a body language expert, explains how the rate at which someone blinks can reveal whether they are telling the truth or not.
He said: “The fasted way to monitor someone is to read how fast they blink.”
When appearing on Steven Bartlett’s Diary Of a CEO podcast, he said fast blinking is a sign of stress, slow blinking is linked to focus, and no blinking can indicate something sinister.
He explained the no blinking phenomenon: “If I talk to a psychopath in an interrogation room and they’re focused on prey, their blink rate per min will be almost zero because they want to manipulate you.”

He said to the investor that the blink rate is an unconscious tell that nobody can fake, and if you watch out for changes to someone’s blinking, you can read people without them ever knowing.
Hughes explained: “If I talk to someone being deceptive their blink rate, can go up to 75 to 80. Blink rate is so reliable because it's unconscious.
“We don't realise the shift in blink rate as we don't manually control it very well. If you monitor the changes, you'll get an idea of what that person is thinking.”

Scott Taylor has a 30-year career in security, working for the FBI and as lead investigator at Guantanamo Bay, so he knows his stuff.
He said lip licking and hard swallowing are sure signs of deception… and also fast blinking, like Hughes said.
Other signs include ‘touching along the lines of their face’ and protecting ‘power zones’ like the chin, stomach and groin.

Scott explains: “‘Truth tellers convey and liars convince, so you don’t need to say, 'I’m 100 percent definite' or 'certain' if you are definite or certain.
“These people are selling not telling, so they give you additional filler or additional eye contact because they think, 'I want to be more convincing'.”
Happy people-watching to spot liars!
