With 2026 less than a day away, many of us will looking ahead to what the New Year may bring.

Whether you're a tarot cards believer, resolution-maker, or diary-planner, there's a whole host of ways people around the world will be preparing this New Year's Eve.

And for the more spiritual of us, we might be looking to mystic figures like Baba Vanga to foresee what the next twelve months will hold.

If you're unfamiliar with Baba, she was a Bulgarian prophet and healer who lived between 1911 and 1996 and claimed to have foreseen the future.

Believers over the years have credited the prophet with predicting a number of world events, such as the death of Diana, Princess of Wales, the election of Barack Obama as US President, and the devastating Chernobyl disaster.

So, what did the seer outline for 2026? Well, it's not looking hugely positive - we're talking another World War and out-of-control artificial intelligence, according to her prophecies.

An AI turning point

To kick things off, Baba Vanga predicted that 2026 could see artificial intelligence begin to dominate key sectors, bringing on job disruption and ethical issues.

We've already witnessed this beginning to happen - just look at the first AI actress, Tilly Norwood, who sent Hollywood into meltdown earlier this year.

AI has long been a divisive subject and it looks like things are only going to get worse as technology progresses.

More world conflict

Secondly, the Bulgarian seer thinks we could be in for more worldwide conflict - a third World War to be precise.

In 2025, she foresaw the beginning of the 'downfall of humanity and for 2026, believers think this could turn into a wider escalation of conflict across the globe in general.

However, if the prophecies are anything to go by we shouldn't worry too much as Baba Vanga has officially predicted the world will end in 5079.

Aliens

Now, the wildest 2026 claim is that humanity could encounter extraterrestrial life for the first time in the latter half of 2026 - aka aliens.

According to Sky History, something 'framed as a large craft approaching Earth in November 2026' and roundups 'point to a huge spacecraft descending on Planet Earth' while referencing talk around the interstellar object 3I/ATLAS to make the argument that the sky is unusually busy.

Natural disasters and climate change

As if 2025 didn't see enough devastation from natural disasters, Baba has predicted that there's more on the way in 2026.

This year, the Myanmar earthquake tragically claimed the lives of thousands of people, while the California wildfires which reportedly killed more than 400 and devastated more than 16,000 structures.

Reports claim Baba specifically foresees massive earthquakes, violent volcanic eruptions and extreme weather for the next twelve months, which 'will batter 7 to 8% of the planet’s land area in 2026'.

Her predictions don't specify locations or dates so this one could apply to anywhere around the globe.

Medical breakthroughs

Finally, on the more positive side, Baba Vanga has issued some positive predictions relating to medicine and health.

According to Sky History, the seer prophesies 'a medical leap in cancer diagnosis and treatments' and 2026 could be the year that multi-cancer early-detection (MCED) blood tests 'move from pilots to national screening programs in at least one major country'.

This would mean catching harder-to-spot cancers, like pancreatic and ovarian earlier, and some debates over false positives, as well as ethical questions like rollout costs and who gets screened first.

The publication also reports that this could be the start of synthetic organs in the medical world, which she sees being mass produced by 2046.

More time in space

Yep, that's right, another Space prediction.

Baba thinks Space study is expected to come on leaps and bounds in 2026 and it's even reported that we could start mining energy from Venus in 2028.

Economic instability

Baba Vanga also predicted economic instability around the world in 2026.

It's said to stem from her other prophecies such as political conflict, natural disasters and alien contact as these disruptions will ripple through supply chains and markets.

Happy New Years Eve.
