If there’s one thing that’s synonymous with the summer, it’s Mr. Whippy ice cream.
Tucking into a crunchy cone topped with delicious and creamy soft-serve is enough to transport anyone to faraway thoughts of holidays - even if you are only out for the afternoon at your local park.
So, when one woman spilt the beans (or rather, the cream) on how to re-create an iced treat that’s inspired by the man himself, we just couldn’t wait to try it. Check out Emmah Ord’s ‘Mr. Whippy’ ice cream hack here:
Emma’s hack has garnered the attention of many fellow ice cream lovers, who commented: “Wow amazing gonna give this a go!”
“I’m going to try this, thanks hun,” wrote another fan, while someone else wrote: “Can't wait to try this!”
Another onlooker added: “Love it, I'm going to try this.”
So, if you’re sold on trying this homemade Mr. Whippy alternative, here’s how to make the summer treat at home, as per @emmahord4.
‘Mr Whippy’ Ice Cream Recipe:
- One pot of double cream
- One tin of condensed milk
- Toppings of choice
If you’re vegan, why not try replacing the double cream and condensed milk with dairy-free alternatives?
- Using an electric whisk, whip cream until stiff peaks begin to form.
- Pour in condensed milk to your desired sweetness - the more you add, the sweeter the ice cream will be.
- Mix together until combined.
- Add in the toppings of your choice - sprinkles, chopped nuts, or swirl in some melted Biscoff spread for an indulgent treat.
- Pour into a freezer-safe Tupperware box.
- Leave for approximately three hours, or until it reaches ice-cream consistency.
And if you’re looking for another sweet treat to get you through the warmer weather, look no further than cheesecake sticks.
With the heatwave in full swing, and temperatures having been expected to reach 40C in some areas of the UK this week, it’s no wonder we’re still looking for ways to keep cool.
Well, these individual cheesecake slices are the ultimate crowd pleaser, and perfect for a party or get-together - especially if your guests all love different toppings!
Each slice has a different flavour or theme and features a handy lolly stick - a bit like a cake pop.
The cheesecake slices are so easy to make and super versatile - simply add whatever toppings you fancy.
The options are limitless. Cherries and chocolate? Check. Oreo chocolate chip? Double check. Biscoff and white chocolate? Triple check!
