Forget about selection boxes and advent calendars. 'Tis the season for chocolate eggs - especially when there's £10,000 at stake!

Cadbury have officially relaunched their Creme Egg hunt, hiding exactly 146 half white chocolate, half milk chocolate Creme Eggs in retailers across the UK.

The limited-edition eggs are disguised on shelves as regular, unassuming Creme Eggs, making this year's hunt a serious challenge.

Depending on the ticket inside the foil of your winning Creme Egg, you could get your hands on a prize worth anywhere between £50 and £10,000.

In total, there are only six Creme Eggs worth £10,000, which can be found in a Morrisons, Sainsbury's, Tesco, Co-op, or Asda.

Three more limited-edition Creme Eggs will be worth £5,000 each will be hidden in Waitrose, One Stop, and a Booker shop.

Four winning eggs will be worth a £1,000 cash prize, and will be stocked at either Iceland or Booths stores.

There are 12 eggs hidden in Poundland stores that are worth £500, and all remaining winning eggs will get you £50.

You could soon be clutching your own golden ticket if you find the special Creme Egg. (

If you're lucky enough to get your hands on a winning Creme Egg, then here's how to claim your prize:

  • Call the phone number that is printed on the ticket under the foil of your winning egg.
  • Answer a series of verification questions, including the unique code on the ticket, the retailer it was purchased from, plus the date and location of purchase.
  • Make sure to keep the ticket safe, as you'll need it to claim your cash.

Oh, and there's one other catch: You can't eat your winning egg!

When you call to claim your prize, you may be asked to take a photo of your uneaten Creme Egg to prove you've found it, and could risk disqualification if you take a bite.

If you can resist the temptation of the nation's favourite gooey chocolate egg, then the money's all yours!

Entry is only open to UK residents who are aged 18 and over.

For further terms and conditions, you can head to the Cadbury website.

Happy hunting!
