Boy calls out This Morning's Alison Hammond for not turning up to his charity climb

Whilst producers had been hoping to hear Tony Hudgell's inspiring story, the little boy end up calling out the This Morning host.

They often say never work with children or animals, well we think Alison Hammond might agree.

Earlier today, the This Morning host was hilariously called out by an eight-year-old boy for not turning up to a charity climb.

The moment clearly caught the presenter off guard, who had to rapidly make it up to young amputee Tony Hudgell:

Having appeared on the iconic sofa last month, the schoolboy was back again after completing a gruelling hike around the Lake District – during which he raised over £40,000 for charity.

It’s even more incredible given that he was horrifically abused by his biological parents, resulting in the loss of both of his legs when he was just a month old.

While producers had hoped Tony would share his inspiring story, it wasn’t long until the little lad told off the 48-year-old host.

Appearing via video link with his adoptive parents, Tony pointedly told Alison: “We needed you…you never came.”

The shocked TV presenter then had to rapidly explain that she’d been filming during the charity event and couldn’t attend.

Alison Hammond had to apologise live on air.

“I do need to explain it to you. I was recording an episode of Bake Off and I couldn’t make it,” she told the eight-year-old.

“Next time I’m going to try my best to be there. I’m so sorry I wasn’t there. I am disappointed in myself.”

The This Morning star added: “I’m sure everyone is disappointed I wasn’t there but you did it. You did it on everyone’s behalf and I’m so proud of you.”

Clearly though, Tony needed a little more buttering up with Hammond then offering to donate £500 to the good cause.

Whilst the little boy might have forgiven the presenter, viewers at home are still simmering over the incident. In fact, some have been taking to Twitter as they react to the awkward moment – which aired this morning.

One wrote: “Ha haaa haaaaa haaaaa brilliant. Totally called Alison out! #ThisMorning”

Meanwhile, another added: “Absolute savage burn aimed at Alison from Tony there. Oof!”

The little boy was less than impressed.

A third then cheered on the little boy, writing: “Yes TONY call her out.”

It’s not the first time the cheeky chap has appeared onThis Morning, with Tony previously being gifted hiking gear for his epic challenge.

Struggling to contain his excitement, the little boy had to be sssh’d by his adoptive mum during the sweet moment.

The family have been raising money for Crohn’s & Colitis UK, the Bendrigg Trust, The Lake District Foundation and Tony’s own foundation – with the charity receiving over £1.8 million through Tony’s various challenges.

We can’t wait to see what he does next!
