Alison Hammond has reassured fans that she is 'fine' after abruptly leaving This Morning during today's live broadcast.
The ITV presenter, 51, was hosting the daytime show alongside co-host Dermot O'Leary when she suddenly left the studio after a segment about pets.
Returning from an ad break, O'Leary told viewers: "Alison is feeling a little unwell, so she’s just had to duck out."

He initially added, 'Hopefully she’ll be back', before later confirming that the Great British Bake Off frontwoman would not be returning to the programme and that he would present the remainder of the show.
Now, taking to Instagram Stories from hospital, Hammond has given fans an update on what happened and admitted she is having her heart checked after experiencing heart palpitations.

"Hello, my lovelies," she began in a Story shared just moments ago. "I know you're worried about me. Honestly, I am fine first of all.
"But I'm getting my old ticker checked out."
Placing her hand on her chest, Hammond went on to explain: "I have a little bit of a palpitation and now I'm getting it all checked out.
"But I think I'm okay - I'm hoping it was just a little panic attack or something like that."
The presenter continued: "I love you all. Thank you for all your lovely messages."
Referencing her abrupt exit from the stage, Hammond went on: "I'm so sorry I left you. I would never normally do that - I would never leave a TV show, so you know I wasn't very well."
She added: "The doctors are so lovely and they're checking me out, and hopefully, everything's going to be fine.
"I love you - well, everything is fine, look - look how good I look, I've still got my make-up on from this morning, lush!
"Love you, babs."
Hammond's update comes after her sudden departure left viewers concerned, particularly because she is a familiar face on This Morning, having first appeared on the programme in 2003 before becoming a regular co-host in 2021.
Taking to the comments of the last Instagram post she uploaded before her health update, fans expressed their fears.
"Okay now I'm worried. Are you okay Alison? I was just watching This Morning," one had asked.

Another penned: "Hoping you are ok. Fridays are the best day with you and D on. Get better soon."
A third went on: "Could @itv please tell us if she's ok. You don't have to tell us what's wrong. We just want to know she's ok."
"My heart was completely racing watching this morning when you fell ill, truly hope you’re ok," wrote a fourth.
