A child actor from The Holiday has revealed she still receives comments from ‘gross old men’ about her character, and that the remarks sometimes ‘creep’ her out.
Next year is the 20th anniversary of the Nancy Meyers’ Christmas classic.
Kate Winslet, who portrays society columnist Iris Simpkins, leaves her charming Surrey cottage in the hands of Cameron Diaz’s Amanda Woods, a Hollywood film producer, who in turn hands over the keys for her LA mansion.
Upon landing in the London borough for the impromptu home-swap, Woods meets Simpkins brother, book editor Graham (played by Jude Law), and father to two children, Olivia and Sophie (Emma Pritchard and Miffy Englefield).

Meanwhile, the writer comes face-to-face with the charming Miles Dumont (Jack Black), a film composer.
And the rest, as they say, is history.
Sophie actress Englefield, who is now 26, went on to appear in an episode of The Whistleblowers in 2007, as well as starring in 12 instalments of Casualty between 2008 and 2010, according to her IMDB profile.
Her latest credit is Beautiful Enough, a short film where her character is called ‘Girl’.
Almost 20 years on from her debut as Sophie in The Holiday, Englefield claimed she still receives comments about her character’s role in the movie.

Taking to TikTok at the time, the star said: "When gross old men say things like 'I'm so glad you are still as cute as you were in The Holiday' to me.
"Relating how I looked as a child to how I look as a grown a** woman makes me all kinds of creeped out idk."
In 2019, she revealed her true thoughts on starring alongside Law and Diaz in the merry movie.
Speaking to The New York Times, she said that both actors made a tumulus effort to keep herself and her co-star Pritchard occupied on set.
“They made all this time for these two little kids running around,” the mum recalled, adding that they were gifted with denim jackets after finishing the movie.

Engelfield also pondered what her character would be doing now if they were to ever make a sequel to The Holiday.
“[She] could be some really cool, artsy girl now. I think a lot of the cast would probably get a shock at my tattoos and piercings, but it would be lovely,” she said.
Unfortunately, in 2022, Myers confirmed there would not be another instalment to her lauded Yuletide flick.
Taking to Instagram to debunk swirling sequel rumours, the director wrote: “So many DM's about this - sorry but it's not true.”
