2023 gave us a whole plethora of box-office smash hits and it seems 2024 is definitely shaping up to carry on the trend.

We've already been graced with Emma Stone's Oscar-winning Poor Things, as well as the incredibly powerful A24 film The Zone of Interest, among a handful of other fantastic flicks.

But there's one particular movie set to hit cinemas this May that people already can't get off.

The action-packed rom-com, which stars Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt, is already receiving incredible praise with an impressive near perfect Rotten Tomatoes score.

Now, we can all agree than Gosling really had his moment as Ken last year starring alongside Margot Robbie in Barbie.

Well, it seems we can all look forward to our next cinematic fix of the 43-year-old actor as he teams up alongside The Devil Wears Prada and Oppenheimer star for The Fall Guy.

Gosling plays Colt Seavers, a battle-scarred stuntman, who left the biz to focus on both his physical and mental health who gets pulled back into service when the star of a mega-budget studio movie - being directed by his ex, Jody Moreno, (Blunt) - goes missing. Check out the official trailer here:

The film's ruthless producer, played by Sex Education's Hannah Waddingham, sneakily tries to keep the disappearance of star Tom Ryder (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) a secret while Colt performs the film’s most outrageous stunts while trying to charm his way back into Jody’s good graces.

However, as the mystery around the missing star deepens, Colt soon finds himself entangled in a sinister, criminal plot that ends up pushing him to the edge of a fall more dangerous than any stunt.

I'm already hooked.

And it seems I'm far from the only one.

Brought to you by real life stunt man and director, David Leitch AKA the man behind a bunch of action classics including Bullet Train and Deadpool 2, and inspired by hit 1980s TV series of the same name - it's clear cinephiles have been left beyond impressed after achieving a cushty critics' score on Rotten Tomatoes.

The Fall Guy is set to hit UK cinemas later this year (2 May).

At the time of writing (14 March), The Fall Guy has already climbed its way up to a whopping 90 percent score - something I'm sure has only accelerated the excitement in fans.

"I can't wait! What I'm seeing is fantastic," wrote one X user, while a second gushed: "This will be so fire!"

A final Twitter user echoed: "Every time we get a new teaser for The Fall Guy, I get even more excited about seeing Hannah Waddingham, Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt all in the same movie. as well as the unhinged chaos there’ll be on the press tour. I can't bloody wait!" Us neither!

The Fall Guy will be hitting UK cinemas later this year (2 May).
