Rewatching films as adults means we can spot things that went over our heads as innocent children.
If you think I'm joking then revisit some of your classic Disney favourites and you'll be surprised.
But one early noughties film that was packed full of double entendres and cheeky jokes was the Shrek series, with film fans now picking up on some of the more risqué quips.
For those unfamiliar with the story, the first flick follows a grumpy ogre named Shrek (played by Michael Myers) as he reluctantly heads out on a quest to rescue Princess Fiona in order to reclaim his swamp from Lord Farquaad, played by John Lithgow, who wants to marry her to become king.

Along the way, Shrek is joined by a talkative donkey played by Eddie Murphy who comes out with some of the film's best one liners.
As you'd expect from a fairytale film, nothing runs smooth and Shrek unexpectedly falls in love with Fiona, who has a very unprincess-like secret as she turns into an ogre at night.
In the end, Fiona embraces her true form, she and Shrek confess their love, and they live happily ever after in the swamp.
Yet the films didn't end there, as a sequel followed in 2004 when Shrek 2 came out, with plenty more jokes from Donkey, Shrek and Princess Fiona.
In Shrek 2, some of the jokes are seemingly more for the adults than the kids including one particular scene involving Pinocchio and some pink underwear. Take a look:
The scene sees Pinocchio alongside his pal Gingerbread Man trying to rescue Shrek, Donkey and their new friend Puss In Boots. Tasked with telling a lie to make his nose grow, Pinocchio is stuck for a cheeky non truth when Donkey suggests saying he's wearing ladies underwear.
Yet lo and behold, when Pinocchio says it nothing happens and within seconds Gingerbread Man has spotted Pinocchio is wearing a pink thong, with the wooden boy's subsequent fierce denials then making his nose grow indicating he's telling a lie.
The clip has been shared on Instagram with film fans celebrating the humour, as one person shared: "Movies arent this good anymore."
Another shared: "“It’s a thong!” Took me out [laughing emoji]."
"I just watched shrek 2 the other night. Arguably one of the best movies of my childhood," said a third.
Another posted: "So much nostalgia."
Another film fan pointed out that the film might have missed it's audience as they commented: "This movie was not for kids."
Shrek might have been a millennial favourite, but it's also coming back with its latest instalment Shrek 5 which will be released next year.
However movie fans are realising the film is not the same as it once was, and they are not happy.
Universal Pictures announced that the film will be released in during Christmas 2026, starring the original cast - Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz and Eddie Murphy, as Shrek, Fiona and Donkey.
However, it seems that all three of the main characters have been refreshed.
