Robert Pattinson reveals he performed very real sex act on camera for a movie that almost caused him to quit acting

Robert Pattinson spared no detail when confessing a sex act in one of his movies was totally real

The Batman actor Robert Pattinson has shared some major NSFW news about on-screen masturbation.

The A Lister, who is now firmly a household name after appearing in the major Twilight franchise spared no detail when talking about his other roles.

Robert opened up about his time on set for Little Ashes, a 2008 film directed by Paul Morrison.

Little Ashes is a drama film, in which Robert plays surrealist painter Salvador Dali.

Ultimately, the film was panned by critics and landed just 24 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

So, it's worth considering whether Robert's admission was worth it.

In a profile for Germany's Interview Magazine, Robert shared: "I once decided to quit acting; it was when I did ‘Little Ashes'.

"I played Salvador Dali and had to do a lot of scenes where I was naked, and I also had to masturbate. I mean really.

“My orgasm face is recorded for eternity."

Naturally, he was asked why he didn't simply fake it, as you'd expect.

He continued: "[It] just doesn’t work, so I pleasured myself in front of the camera."

It turns out that on screen sex (or sex-adjacent) scenes aren't as rare as you might think.

American actress Margo Stilley shocked the masses back in 2004 when 9 Songs, directed by Michael Winterbottom, was released.

Every sex scene in the film was real.

She opened up in an interview for the Irish Examiner: "People were really angry with me.

“When I did press conferences people would shout abuse at me."

Margo, who went on to feature in The Host and How To Lose Friends and Alienate People, continued: "People ask me if I felt that Michael Winterbottom took advantage of me because I hadn't acted before, but they forget that I developed the character.

"It was a film about love and sex. It wasn't porn. I mean, I had sex with my boyfriend last night and that wasn't porn. It was just hot sex!"

Unlike Robert, Margo has showed no regret for her sex scenes.

"9 Songs was a real film about love and sex, and I wanted to do that film and I am proud of it", she concluded.

And now that Robert has gone on to star in some of the most major blockbusters of recent times, we're glad he didn't quit acting after his Little Ashes experience.
