After eight long years, Disney has revealed it's releasing a sequel to 2016 hit movie Moana.

The second instatement to the Polynesian action-adventure musical - which featured huge names including Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, Auli'i Cravalho, Jemaine Clement and Nicole Scherzinger - is set to hit cinemas in November 2024.

Disney CEO Bob Iger broke the news today, having been impressed with the original movie's earnings.

The film’s description reads: “After receiving an unexpected call from her wayfinding ancestors, Moana must journey to the far seas of Oceania and into dangerous, long-lost waters for an adventure unlike anything she’s ever faced.”

More to come.
