Married At First Sight UK star, Ryan Livesey, has issued a statement following his shock exit from the show ahead of tonight’s episode.

Channel 4 viewers were first introduced to the former semi-professional footballer turned bin man after he was coupled up with Glasgow make-up artist, Sionainn Carmichael a few weeks back.

Things weren't off to a good start when Sionainn finally rocked up to the altar only to turn to her family and friends and ask: "What am I doing, guys?"

She then confessed: "I'm feeling dead overwhelmed. I'm scared and want to run away.

Ryan said he was looking to find a 'down to earth, grounded wife' who has 'manners and respect for others'.

He added: "My parents would love me to be with someone that’s just honest in themselves and not bigger than who they are."

Before meeting his bride, the hopeful groom opened up about his previous health battle after being diagnosed with bladder cancer back in 2017.

He candidly told MAFS UK viewers that his cancer 'could come back', and it's just 'something he has to live with'.

It seems like fans instantly fell in love with the 28-year-old with many running to his social media to praise him and comment on his uncanny resemblance to a young Channing Tatum.

But it seems like Ryan's time on the TV show is now up.

He took to Instagram this evening (24 October) to deliver the news in a touching message to his fans.

It reads: "Writing this is difficult, and to be honest, I'm not sure where to begin.

"The process of Married at First Sight is intense and an emotional rollercoaster and I genuinely believe I tried my absolute best throughout the whole process."

The reality TV star continued: "I was starting to develop real feelings and it meant a lot to hear Sionainn say she felt 'safe and comfortable' around me. This is something I truly pride myself on, not only as a man but also as a dad.

"I wish things would have turned out differently but now feels like the right time for myself and Sionainn to leave the experiment and I wish her all the best for the future."

Reflecting on the experience, he added: "I will always be grateful for the experience and the opportunity to learn and grow as a person as I continue to take these life lessons into my future."

Ryan signed off the message adding: "RL X."

More to follow.
