Married at First Sight UK viewers are only just realising where they’ve seen Lacey and her family before after one controversial episode left fans in absolute shock.

In-laws week proved to be a pretty dramatic one indeed after 24-year-old engineer Nathan finally had a sit down meal with 27-year-old office manager Lacey Martin's mum and sister.

We watched on as Nathan met his bride Lacey's mother - who Lacey pre-warned to not engage in any 'banter' with.

However, it seems like Nathan ignored his bride's warning and made a light-hearted joke anyway, unknowingly landing him in pretty deep waters with his new in-law.

Now, Lacey's mum was cooking the pair a meal - chicken fajitas - when she asked Nathan to chop up the meat.

On account of him being a vegetarian, the groom politely declined prompting Lacey's mum to reveal she'd 'never met' one before.

She later segued into questioning Nathan on his motives with her daughter.

After the meal, which Nathan didn't eat, he made a joke about the food being bad, which led to quite the reaction with Lacey's mum.

She broke down in tears and called her son-in-law 'rude' and MAFS UK viewers did not take her reaction lightly.

Since then, fans have spotted where they've seen Lacey and her family before - none other than ITV's Dress to Impress back in 2020, and have since rushed to social media to share their discovery.

One X user wondered: "Is Lacey's twin from Dress To Impress?"

"Lacey's twin sister Paige was on Dress To Impress," pointed out a second, while a third echoed: "Wasn't Lacey's sister on Dress to Impress as well Lacey?"

Another chimed in: "I thought I recognised Lacey and Paige (and their mum) They were both on Dress to Impress. Paige was one of three girls dressing a boy then returned as the one picking."

And a final X user hit out: "Great to see MAFS continuing its tradition of being a stepping stone for influencers and reality wannabes. Lacey and her sister have both been on Dress to Impress, they were hard work then…

"Almost all people on here have strong emotional challenges."

Lacey has since addressed the backlash against her mum, taking to Instagram to share a statement on the matter.

She began: "Hey everyone, wanted to clear a few things up.

"My mum did NOT know Nathan was vegetarian also she had no say in what we was eating, she was just told ur making fajitas!

"You need to remember it is edited for entertainment and to take it with a pinch of salt!"
