Viewers haven't taken kindly to one Married at First Sight contestant's behaviour during last night's episode.

After the marriages between two strangers have taken place, it's always the iconic dinner parties that viewers look forward to the most.

As the married couples spend a lot of one-on-one time getting to know each other, their isolated bubble is well and truly burst at the famed parties.

All of the contestants meet around a table and catch up about their respective marriages and what's going right, as well as very wrong.

There's always a lethal dose of drama at these parties as the alcohol flows and gripes rise to the surface.

Well, safe to say last night's dinner party certainly did not disappoint - with kick offs a-plenty.

Namely at the hands of 28-year-old career advisor, Polly Sellman, who got off to a rocky start with her new husband, 33-year-old barber, Adam Nightingale.

During last night's episode (1 October), things got explosive.

Polly has been accused by social media users of being too harsh towards fellow cast mate Charlie Curtis.

In awkward scenes, Polly addressed the marriage between Eve and Charlie, which has been tough for the two to navigate.

Polly said: "Eve and Charlie, I don't have high hopes for them at all. It's giving toxic."

Holly Ditchfield responded: "It actually upsets me because Eve has such a big heart and she genuinely just wants to be loved."

Polly then described Charlie as 'mean' and 'a little bit of a bully', which led to a huge falling out and Charlie leaving the room.

In later scenes, after clashing with her own husband Adam amid a conversation about getting out of the friend zone, the fellow couples attempt to chime in and help.

Polly then tells them all to 'shush' and later to 'shut up' at the table, to their shock.

One viewer wrote on X: "Wow, polly is RUDE!! Imagine shouting at people to shut up around a table."

A second said: "Ermmmm sorry but who the f**k does Polly think she is????"

Now, Polly has had her say and issued a statement on Instagram.

She wrote: "Hey guys. Just a message about tonight's episode...

"Please remember to keep an open mind with things on TV.

"We saw a lot of Eve most days and nights as she was always with one of us, and Charlie hardly ever while we were in the apartments. Naturally being closer with one party you do believe what someone's saying to you about their partner if they're nowhere to be seen and you haven't spoke to them about anything.

"It's really upsetting to see how blindsided we all were with this situation but please know I (and the other girls) did apologise [profusely] to Charlie and we are all good and speak daily."

In another slide, she added: "Also I get very overstimulated in certain stressful situations with a lot of alcohol and emotions involved. That's a me problem."
