MAFS UK star Kristina makes huge admission in emotional statement about split with Kieran

Married at First Sight UK’s Kristina Goodsell has made a candid confession amid her heartbreaking split from her ex-husband Kieran Chapman.

Last night (14 November), reality TV obsessors tuned into MAFS UK season nine for the final time in the hopes of discovering the fate of some of their favourite couples.

After an explosive season that included messy splits, on-screen rows and reported burned bridges, the scandalous Channel 4 show finally aired its reunion special - and oh, what an episode it was!

One of the duos featured was Kristina, 31, and Kieran, 28, a pair who called quits on their marriage before the final decision.

The pair initially seemed to hit it off, with the Newcastle-born star’s ‘rotten teeth’ prank at the alter setting the tone for their relationship.

But when Bexhill-on-Sea native Kristina revealed she suffered from premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), her former spouse admitted he wasn’t sure if he could deal with a wife who had a serious health condition.

Their split, which shocked some fans, was brought up during the MAFS UK reunion special, with mentor Paul C. Brunson asking Kieran for the ‘real reason’ behind their divorce.

"Kieran doesn't want me,” Kristina interjected, while Kieran himself said: "I would say one of the reasons is the way Kristina relies on a partner.

"I'm not saying I can't be a shoulder to lean on, but I've been there before, and that's a trigger.”

Amid the revelation, Kristina has taken to Instagram to defend her ex-husband, simultaneously revealing how MAFS UK has impacted her life.

Alongside a carousel of snaps, the dog walker described Kieran as her ‘friend’ before saying she is no longer the person fans have been watching on their small screens.

The MAFS UK star described herself and Kieran as ‘very different individuals’ but confessed she still felt ‘lucky’ to have found genuine friendship on the show.

“I am so grateful and so lucky to have had this experience and most importantly to have Kieran at the end of the aisle,” the reality TV star confirmed.

“We didn’t find love but we found a friend for life and an experience we will never forget. Thank you so every single person who made this happen for us. So so grateful and blessed.”

To round up her post in spectacular fashion, Kristina admitted: “MAFS saved my life, quiet literally and I will be FOREVER thankful to have shared this experience with you all,” followed by hashtags such as ‘Life lesson’, ‘growth’ and ‘emotional memories’.

Fans and famous faces have since flocked to the comments section to have their say, with former I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!s Vicky Pattinson writing: “Awww Kristina!!! I still love you guys.”

“I’m so sad it didn’t work you deserve the world,” commented a fan of the programme, while another echoed: “You will find the right one, wishing the absolute best for you girl.”

Kieran himself has also had his say on the situation, remarking: “Love you loads. The BEST ex-wife I’ve ever had.”
