MAFS UK groom Alex hits back at Holly after backlash following dramatic exit during commitment ceremony

One of Married At First Sight's most controversial characters, Alex Henry, has once again taken to social media where he has released a series of pretty damning statements about his marriage to on-screen wife, Holly Ditchfield.

The star took to Instagram last night (28 October), not only to highlight the support he said he has received from fans, but to call his wife out on her behaviour.

Last night's instalment of the romance experiment certain was a fiery one, with several couples announcing their departure from the show after sadly remaining unable to make their relationship work long-term.

Amongst them was Alex and Holly, who have endured a notoriously rocky romance since the series kicked off last month.

Despite several loved-up moments, the couple have predominantly remained at logger-heads since day one.

Last night, however, it all came to blows between the pair, with Holly sensationally calling Alex out on his attempts to defend himself over his controversial behaviour and branding him a 'bulls******g b*****d'.

And though Holly herself hasn't exactly been an angel throughout the series, many viewers went on to heap praise onto her for her remark.

"Damn Holly 'bulls******g b*****d' I was not expecting her to say that, but she is 100% correct," one viewer penned on social media last night.

Another added: "bulls******g b******d is right Holly tell him again!!!"

And in response to the backlash, Alex - who has also embroiled himself in spats with several of his co-stars - has once again initiated a bitter online tirade about his experience on the show.

Firstly, he shared several snaps from the pre-recorded episode, many of which see Holly raising a finger at him whilst the pair spoke to the show's resident relationship experts on the famous green sofa.

In the caption, he penned four condemnatory words - 'Hurt people hurt people' - alongside a broken heart emoji.

Minutes later, the MAFS UK star took to his Instagram Story, where he shared numerous screenshots of comments and messages he'd received from fans of the show.

One fan wrote in a comment that they were 'horrified' that no one 'had a go' at Holly for 'calling Alex a b*****d', adding: "If he had called her a b***h for example, we would not have heard the end of it."

Seemingly in agreement with the fan's observation, Alex went on to launch an online Q&A titled, 'Let's talk about it. Double standards?'.

After another viewer wrote to tell him they thought how Holly spoke to him was 'rude', he penned on his Story: "Imagine if I had pointed at her, raised by voice and called her a b***h."

Holly herself has also shared screenshots of people reacting to the show on her Instagram Story, including one who called her 'amazing' and 'beautiful,' adding: "That's my girl smashed it whole way through MAFS."

She wrote in her own statement: "Just a quick message to all the lovely people who have supported my MAFS journey. MAFS taught me so much about myself things I never knew I was capable of doing I accomplished. I am proud of me."

She continued to thank her 'amazing MAFS family', as well as her family and friends, before concluding: "Over and out."
