I'm A Celeb's Frankie Dettori slams ITV after he's kicked off show first

I'm A Celeb's Frankie Dettori slams ITV after he's kicked off show first

He's opened up about his time Down Under

I'm A Celeb has had its very first eviction with Frankie Dettori being the first to be voted out the camp.

Frankie's departure comes after Grace Dent and Jamie Lynn Spears quit the camp on medical grounds, making him the first campmate to actually be voted off the ITV reality show.

He was up against YouTube star Nella Rose in the bottom two, with Ant and Dec finally announcing that he had received the fewest votes and had to pack his bags and leave camp.

Frankie has since spoke about on his experiences on I'm A Celeb and has called out ITV for a choice that apparently lead to him being booted off the show first.

The 52-year-old sportsman only entered the show on the fifth day and revealed to The Mirror exactly what it was like joining the programme as a latecomer.

He said: "Everybody had already bonded for four days. So I'm, you know, the new kid who arrived in a new school afterwards.

"It took a while to break the ice and be accepted to get to know everyone, I'm not going to lie about it.

"I have to go round one by one and really, you know, apart from Nigel, I never met anyone. So that was a slow process. And you don't see what is edited on TV.

"And speaking to my wife, she said, you know, I had very little airtime and I thought I had done a lot."

The Italian jockey continued: "It all depends how it is edited to the programme. But you know what? To me, I have come out of there as a winner.

Italian jockey, Frankie Dettori, was the first contestant to be voted of I'm A Celebrity.

"I challenged myself. I passed every challenge. And, I like to say it could have been two weeks or three weeks, it wouldn't have made no difference.

"I just felt like I did everything I wanted to achieve and I'm very proud of what I did."

Tyla has reached out to ITV for comment.

Opening up further about his time Down Under, the three-time British flat racing Champion jockey added: "Going to the jungle it's not a race when you are actually in control.

"It's the public in control. It's the media, it's the social media. I mean, I feel like a winner because every challenge I took, I did it and I took it head on I never ducked out to anything."

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! airs on ITV Sunday to Friday at 9pm and Saturday at 9.30pm.
