With just three episodes left to go, we can officially count the number of celebs left in the Aussie jungle on one hand.

Interestingly, however, I'm A Celeb viewers aren't thrilled with who we've actually got left, after two fan favourites endured a double elimination last night which has been branded 'a crime'.

So far in the series, we've bid adieu to Loose Women's Jane Moore, Radio 1 presenter Dean McCullough, N-Dubz' Tulisa Contostavlos, and TV host Melvin Odoom.

As we say, however, one aspect of last night's show has rubbed ITV viewers up completely the wrong way, after two stars were axed out of the blue, despite having been firm favourites with viewers in the weeks prior.

The contestants were previously forced to battle it out for immunity in a final challenge known as Arcade of Agony.

Strictly's Oti Mabuse bagged a golden ticket straight to Friday night's 'Celebrity Cyclone', leaving everybody else up for elimination.

Revealing who'd received the least votes to stay in camp, presenters Ant and Dec said two would be leaving, and that it was former Love Island bombshell Maura Higgins and boxing promoter Barry McGuigan who'd have to say their goodbyes.

And while fans were sad to see Barry go - with many having previously applauded him for lifting the lid on his emotional woes and mental health battles in a public sphere - they also branded 34-year-old Maura's exit a total outrage.

The much-loved funny-woman has left viewers in stitches since entering the series as a 'latecomer', revealing the 'real reason' she went on Love Island back in 2019, and striking up a close-knit friendship with Reverend Richard Coles.

Taking to social media, a handful of viewers hit out at both the public for failing to save Maura, and ITV producers for allowing her to go.

"How has Maura been eliminated," one demanded on X. "Before even making the cyclone! She was top 3 at LEAST. We have failed as a nation once again".

Another hit out: "MAURA SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN THE FINAL 4 NOBODY SPEAK TO ME."

A third continued: "Loved Maura in the jungle, her one liners, the reaction pics, “sorry father” whenever she said the lord’s name in vain in front of Richard, she was robbed."

"MAURA??" another questioned. "I THOUGHT SHE WAS FINAL 4 WTF."

"barry and maura before alan we’ve failed as a country", another added.

A sixth continued: "MAURA IS GONE??? WHAT IS GOING ON??? THE BRITISH VOTING PUBLIC GET NOTHING RIGHT."

"Maura was robbed - one of my contenders for Queen of the Jungle! Bye Queen", one viewer added.

Another penned: "MAURA ELIMINATED BEFORE ALAN IS AN ACTUAL CRIME PHONE THE POLICE CALL OFCOM fuminggggggggg."
