The 2025 Golden Globes ceremony was watched by a whopping 10.1 million viewers, according to Paramount.

People from around the world tuned in to see which stars would take home the prestigious trophies and which movies would win big at one of the biggest nights in entertainment.

This year's star-studded evening, the 83rd annual Golden Globes, is being hosted by actress and comedian Nikki Glaser for the second year running at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills.

It will kick off on Sunday 11 January 2026, airing on CBS and Paramount+ in the US and available to stream from 8pm EST, which is 1am UK time on Monday 12 January.

However, for those of us across the pond, the ceremony is only available on very limited services, as it's primarily being broadcast live on American TV.

Paramount+ users with the Showtime add-on can stream the Golden Globes live, and other Paramount+ subscribers can stream the show the next day.

Or, if you manage to get access to a VPN and use it to bypass geo-restrictions, you can then sign up for a free or paid subscription to the likes of platforms like Hulu + Live TV or FuboTV.

If none of these options work for you, you can simply recap the highlights the next day on social media and on the news.

The one thing authorities are firmly warning against doing in the UK, though, is attempting to watch the ceremony using an illegal Amazon Fire Stick.

It comes after it was announced last year that Amazon was cracking down on illegal streaming on its Fire TV Stick devices.

If you have no idea what we're talking about, the Amazon Fire Stick itself is an entirely legal piece of technology when purchased and used in its original form.

The issue comes, however, when people illegally jailbreak or modify them to allow users to access apps which show pirated content from streamers such as Netflix and Disney+, as well as accessing live events like for example, sporting events and the Golden Globes.

Essentially, it unlocks thousands of premium channels for free but, of course, this is prohibited. While it's technically not against the law to jailbreak a stick, it is a crime to watch illegal content on it, such as dodgy streams of sporting events or pirated material.

The Federation Against Copyright theft (FACT) have warned that they are continuing to target anywhere in the UK and Ireland 'where the data shows that illegal streaming activity is taking place'.

In recent years, the police and FACT have been seizing the fire sticks and making arrests up and down the country.

Amazon has also joined the crackdown itself, with its new Fire TV Stick 4K Select having a key change that makes it harder to turn into a dodgy stick, as per Metro.

Should users be caught using one of these jailbroken Fire Sticks to illegally stream, they risk severe financial penalties or criminal charges that could even lead to a prison sentence.

FACT UK explains: “Streaming, downloading or sharing unauthorised TV content, film or sports content is a crime. Illegal streaming or downloading are extremely risky activities, which can leave you and your family at the mercy of malware, viruses, ransomware, scams and fraud."
